I recently purchased a cracking double set of Rick's supreme solo work. I bought this item in a cut-priced sale in Tunbridge Wells. The collective price of the dvd and cd was an incredible £9.99! And boy, was it money well-spent. I checked out the dvd for the first time tonight and it was awesome. It was recorded in Australia way back in 1975 and involved Rick powering his way through two King Arthur tracks, three from The wives of Henry VIII and the entire Journey to the centre of the earth. I haven't listened to much of the cd as yet, but it seems to contain similar tracks to the dvd. At the start of the concert, Rick strolls onto the stage in a flowing white cape and flowing blonde locks (no beard at this stage of his career) and proceeds to astound with a virtuoso display. Working his way from one bank of keyboards to another with effortless skill, Rick performs with aplomb throughout. It was quite superb to see him at the pinnacle of his very considerable powers, driving himself, the band and orchestra (not to forget the narrator!) through a galaxy of great pieces of music. This is a dvd I will play many times over, enjoying the experience hugely on each and every occasion. Can't wait to see him returning to the Yes fold once again. Seattle on Wednesday night is gonna be one hell of a gig!
