I own theSymphonic and House of Yes DVDs. I want a DVD of the band in the 70s. Should I but 1975 Live at QPR or Yessongs? Thanks for any input.

imho. It is Yes at thier best. The QPR sound is really bad also.

I have an old copy of Yessongs on VHS and the sound is horrible.I'm wondering if the dvd is a noticable difference and is there any extra material on it?

I have not seen the Yessongs film but I have heard the quality is poor.
I do own both QPR DVD's though, and though the sound quality is less than ideal, especially during 'Sound Chaser', I would still whole heartedly recommend it for a hardcore Yesfan.
You can find my hopefully reasonably unbiased review on the Forgotten Yesterdays site.

Nice review of the QPR dvd Nick. I think based on that review, I'm going to go have to pick it up. I've never been to sure wether I should or not, but you've provided enough info for me to think I need to own it.
Again, thanks.

now all we need is new and better masters of this concert to find their way into the hands of the band themselves and get it remixed and reissued to the quality of the Symphonic DVD.
mind you , this could only happen after the mark 1 King Crimson reform and play a special concert for me in my back garden......

Can I come Nick,I am only round the corner from you.
I agree, the sound and video quality of those two should be better, but I guess its the old adage " sh*t in,sh*t out".ie
rubbish original sound/video,conversion & tweaking will not improve it.
Looking forward to gig @ yours though, can I bring a friend?

I've yet to buy Yessongs (keep hoping someone will take on the project to clean it up) however I did finally buy pt 2 of QPR and enjoy this one a lot. Film is great and sound is fine. I have seen plenty of stuff from pt1 on youtube and think I will finally sink some $ into getting pt1 in spite of the less than "stellar" sound issues.
