This is the worst yes album I ever heard I do in fact have better vinyl. and thats a big fact. its on cd I wonder who remastered this pos. the music is so good but apparently the label sucks; rhino records R2 78042 nothing like a herald cd- HER006. rhino is a joke listen to this cd and you will also see.. the artwork is outstanding but the sound is so dull it sounds as if someone that remasterd it put a big blanket over it. you cant even or dont even WANT TO LISTEN TO IT they blanketed out must of the upper range so it doent have none. plus this cd comes in a cardboard cover wich doest fit into any cd holder.

Hmm. Specifically which album are you PO'd about. You're a little short on details. Much of the Yes catalog is now available on Rhino - and they've done a pretty good job, I thought.

i dont know about the others on rino; i have alot of vinyl but i am talking about the ultimate yes 35 3 disc cd. 35 anniversary collection; turn the treble all the way up listen again where is it? it just sounds so dull. like it got double dolby encoded and not decoded or muffled. then compare it to the old "the yes album" cd or the an "evening of yes music plus" cd.

Ah, silly me. I should have chcked which thread this was in :silly: .
I've compared a few of the tracks on the albums I have (which is a lot), and find that the sound quality is very good to "best," comparatively. I listened with special notice to your "no treble/blanket" complaint, and just don't hear that problem. Perhaps you have a bad pressing?

 Maybe AI'll have to give this a spiun again.. It's been a while.. But I don't recall any problems with it, infact I recall liking this particular remaster.... But you all know how MY memory is... Now where'd my keyboard go... :banghead:

Hey Matt, it's not you (and it's not your fault either...). I have this--twas in fact my first Yes album--and I find nothing wrong with it. Bass loud, but nothing wrong with the treble that I could detect. And even if the remasters didn't sound fine, there is the 3rd disc of new tracks that sounds excellent. ;)

Mine came from a friend that ordered it from bmg music for me; yet the other bmg discs he got for me at the same time sound fine. although i have heard that sometimes bmg discs are of a lower quality. I should have thought of that before saying that this was the worst sounding yes cd I have. but at least im honest and it is. and so yes I may have a bad pressing. I really belive that. it just sounds o.k. but not as good as any of my other yes cds. not as dynamic. they all sound so good I would rather listen to them. i am looking at it and it doesnt say bmg but its on rhino also says electra and made by warner. and it is brand new; 1 week old. most likely newer than the ones you have. I dont know? maybe the older ones or non bmg ones are better.

While we're whining about Rhino...I was one of the "quoted" autographed set winners of TWIL...I've yet to receive the signed discs...

Sounds likely you do have a bad pressing.
I've no complaints about mine.

:Wow: Whos whining NOT ME...... I am just saying I am not that happy with my c.d. shure I think i have a lousy pressing and if not then maybe it was remastered and someone tried to clean up the sound but at the same time lost some dynamic range I dont know? all as I am saying is the one I have aint that great. PLUS I am also saying If any one does not have AN EVENING OF YES MUSIC PLUS then you should consider buying one.. this is a double cd on the herald label # her006 the discs are gold not silver IN FACT the best sounding cd i ever heard.:theband:
