Hi,
I grew up on Yes in the early 70's. Tripping and driving to the top of Mt. Canobolas in my 1963 model Kombi van listening to 'Fragile' is something I will never forget.
The Sydney concert in the early 70's at the Horden Pavillion in another event I will never forget.
I'm a pro muso myself based in Melbourne now and about to record my own progressive rock album in November.

Me too Golds, YES came into my consciousness with Fragile. I was 14. THe age of transformation in so many ways. Spiritual Awarenesss, Girls, YES, Pot, Orange Sunshine, beginnings of personal independence which allowed me to experience people, places and things I hadn't realized. Then YES came. BAM!
With each YES album, I grew along side them. CTTE in High School, TALES - my first year of college and throughout. When YES (Jon/Rick left) split up, I graduated as well moved to California. California was a new beginning and the new YES wasn't a part of that time.

BUT MY PRIME WAS PERFECTLY IN SYNC with YES's prog-ression (hey! a new name for the next album) PROG-RESS-ION

When I was an impressionable young teenager searching for identity.... After more than 30 years, I still haven't found it! I've concluded that identity is just an illusion, but I like to hear great music for the transient wonder and joy of sound and illusion.

I was just an innocent 13-year-old when I began going roundabout. Then, Tales From Topographic Oceans became my bible. I'm convinced that human beings are predisposed to invest in mandala symbols, such as Tales. It happened to me quite naturally, although I was also aware of my own spiritual aspirations and motivation to enter Jon Anderson's strange temple.
