Hey yessheads!

It's been a few years since I was on here and it's nice to see the legion growing. I figured it was time to kibitz with some Yesfans once again. My name's Kevin, or Kev for short. I'm a music composition and technology student about to graduate and I live in Louisville, Kentucky USA (on my way to Seattle within the next 12 months I hope). I'm shifting all my efforts in life toward becoming a score composer and have finished a few projects after a few years of drudgery in rock bands.

I notice some of the crew from when I was here back in 2002, leaving for some personal reasons at the time that seem petty with the passage of time. I've even met a few of you in Toronto a few years back at the party before the show at the ACC. A lot of `esses' also come to mind from the past on these forums; sschiffman, smatt, shifty (2010 baby!). Myspace Yes groups just weren't doing it for me anymore, so yeah; I'm back! :heydude: I even saw Tim driving in northern Ohio on my way back from the Toronto show with his inimitable license plate (I didn't honk, man... that would've been awkward trying to explain how I knew you through my passenger window at 70 mph).

Anyway, I'm looking forward to getting to know the new crew and talk all things Yes whenever I can pop in to say hello. A few obligatory quick Yes facts; Fav. album: GFTO, best show: Louisville Palace Open Your Eyes Tour Nov. 1997, Times seen live: 9, Fav. musician outside of Yes: Peter Gabriel, Fav. Yes Musician: Trevor Rabin (ouch, I felt someone drawing a line over me just now), Fav. Song: Awaken. Furthermore, I spend just about every day wondering when the hell Yes are going to record another album with Rick, as I'm sure you all do as well. So, hopefully, we'll all be able to share our thoughts and rejoice once it's out!

If anyone's interested you can hear a clip of some of my music, I guess it's the most yessish: http://www.harmonic-media.com/music/sanluisrey/musicplayer3.html

Look forward to catching up with the old and hobnobbing with the new. See you around!

Yep, I'm on the mailing list. I can understand why the union's so concerned about Seattle. Hopefully, this will work itself out before I move. I'm keeping an eye on it though.

Hey Kev...do I know you from someplace else? :jammin:

Hmmm. don't think so. I lingered around Solsburyhill.org and posted on the Pete forums for a while but other than that the only message board I've hung around in the past few years is canadaka.net. Did you maybe kick my butt at fantasy hockey like everyone else? :owned:

Hey Yesiam, I remember you too! good to see you again! Hope everyone's looking forward to PG's next! I heard Mark Goodman on Sirius say that it was coming out next month and is some sort of collaborative project with world musicians. I think he mentioned Sinead is on it too. At any rate, I haven't kept up on Pete in a while so any news is good news. ...and through the wire...

Hello Kev and welcome from a fellow Rabin fan. In fact I invented a new term for us--Rabinites. (Right Cin? ;) ) I love his film soundracks too--soon going to see a couple of the movies he's done recently.

Funny, just before getting on here tonight I played Going for the One. "Awaken" is one of my favorites too. Indeed I am a Rabinite AND Howe fan...that's what happens when your favorite Yesman (for me it's Chris) has played with both of them, and everybody else! :D

Wow, that's strange. I used the term `rabinites' in a PM a half hour ago to luckydoug! I guess it works best. Trevorkin, Rabinhorde and Rabinicans don't seem to flow quite as nicely. I'm a huge Howe fan too, but I'm unashamedly a Rabin apologist. I defend him from the rabid anti-rabins. At any rate, pleased to meet a fellow Trevorrufugus!

I do like Rabinicans. That sounds more Biblical than Rabinites! (PrincessCin made a comment that Rabinities sounded Biblical in my "new member here" thread.)

And does that rabid Rabin ruffugus have any Rabbitts in his collection? :lmao: I do and think they're great--though my favorite Rabin non-Yes album is Can't Look Away, by a landslide.

Sheesh that sounds like Dr. Seuss--Screedy is influencing me! LOL!
