First off, let me say how much I LOVE both the album and DVD of this show! It is my favorite of all the Yes live albums. I found the original LPs, in pristine condition, for a steal and there was no turning back.

Anyway, a while back in some Steve Howe interview, he mentioned that he often would switch from guitar to bass live, to "duel" with Chris Squire. Is the Yessongs version of "The Fish" one of those instances? After reading the interview, and going back to listen, I thought I was hearing two basses but I'm not sure. My only disappointment with the Yessongs DVD is that "The Fish" is not included...oh well.

Thanks guys!

Andrea, i don't think Yessongs version is anyone but Chris during the bulk of it. Steve opens, then Chris takes over, then all join in at the end, but the actual solo i believe is all Chris...

would love to hear some licks traded between those two. its usually Steve and Rick that trade off.

Yessongs ablsolutely rocks! I love the Fish too. That was quite a find- Yessongs on vinyl. I still have my original from the '70s LOL. Scratchy-poppy!

I know! I bought the vinyl because I hadn't previously had any Yes live, wanted to "test the waters" so to speak, but also didn't want to buy the $25+ double CD. I usually prefer CDs, but not at that price. I ended up with the closest-to-mint record I've bought in a really long time, especially a plus since we have a turntable that's less than 10 years old and quite sensitive. Other records that played fine on an old turntable had to be replaced with CD because of that sensitivity!
