Hi Fans,

A long-time friend and YES fan is celebrating his 50th birthday on August 30.
I am putting together a catalogue of musical events that have happened on the August 30's of his life. For instance, the Beatles famous Hollywood Bowl concert was August 30, 1965, the same day Dylan's Hwy 61 was released. Hendrix's final UK concert was Isle of Wight on August 30, 1970, the Beatles completed Dear Prudence on August 30, 1968, that sort of thing. YES is his favorite band and I would love to include famous concerts, recording session information, birthdays, anything that happened on August 30.

Thanks

Eric

Our BrianD used to post this day in Yes history daily

Heres what he said about Aug 30th

Well, not strictly Yes but ABWH as on this day in 1989 ABWH went gold in the US, unfortunately coinciding with the second cancelled ABWH concert at Bonner Springs KA due to Tony Levin's ill health.

In 2001, Keystudio was released in Sweden.

And the concerts - 1968, 1969, 1977, 1978, 1980 & 2004

What a great present you are doing, good luck

I was at the August 30,2004 Yes concert; full moon, very hot and humid. Second row and backstage for 90 minutes. Great time.
Wish you were there.

Wish I could go to Wildwood, I spent senior week there right after high school, don't remember much. Roundabout plays another beach town all the way back in Southern CA on the 19th. The show must go on...*sigh*. The 5th annual gathering was great, but that was then, I need more YES! I cheer myself up w/Awaken, and the fact that Roundabout has a show at The House of Blues in San Diego tomorrow night! 'Bout bloody time, too!
