There is a rather humorous quote from actor Steve Zahn in the May issue of Details Magazine.
For those of you who don't know Steve Zahn by name, he is a fantastic comedic actor. He steals just about every scene he is in. He was the funny band member in "That Thing You Do" for instance. Fantastic timing and an unrivaled dead pan delivery.
Anyway, the back page of Details has a section called "The Last Word" where they ask a series of pretty goofy questions that all start with "When was the last time you..." to the interviewee. The following is an excerpt:
Q: "When was the last time you played air guitar?
A: "February 16, 1987. It was a Yes tune (begins growling out the riff)...whichever that one was. It was like four songs in one - weren't all their tunes like that? 'Chickens come out of the snow and stand there...' What the f__k was that all about?"
I thought this was quite funny! (And...I am sure some of you will boycott every movie with S. Zahn in it from now on...but to each their own.)

When do Chickens come out of the snow and stand there?
This is a serious issue. They do this when they are supposed to lay eggs. You see they got this great ideas to lay eggs in the snow. The eggs would get lost because they were white and blended in with the snow plus the few eggs found were frozen solid. The chickens had hoped that this would relieve pressure from the chicken farmers to produce. It for the most part backfired as they wound up being sold to Tyson's and KFC. So the chicken union has a new problem. They go out in the snow and realize that they have to come back in or wind up fried in various parts. New plan come in from the snow and stand there. Don't lay eggs until it is clear that it is an egg or a trip half way across Arkansas in one of those cramped chicken cages where doom is obviously ominous. Poor chicken they are trying their best to organise but the Holstein Cow union is extremly more powerful with their eat more chicken campaign. Off the record, when President Cluck Cluck was interviewed on the plight of chickens everywhere he replied "The best any of us can really hope for is that someone chokes on a bone and that we are reincarnated as a horse." When asked about the Salmanella chicken conspiracy as a last ditch survival effort his reply was "No comment."
Once again we that both Yes and the various comedians of the world are where the news really is.

I guess we really should not take things in life too seriously. However, maybe a thread for Misunderstood Yes Lyrics and what we really thought they were.

I was at the local Fred Meyer the other day (another Kroger store, kinda like KMart but with groceries - I only buy dry goods there cause they're cheap). I often browse through the cd compilations - you know the ones : has been bands with a hit or two, or those Best of the 80's things. I have always been satisfied that Yes is not among them - until now. Oh god it's happened. the Best of Yes for 6.99 in Fred Meyer. It has the picture with everyone in Jon's house, Rick is leaning on Jon and has a really goofy look . It's the live recordings from SLO............What's next, late night tv promo's of the new boxed set for 19.95???????????????????????
