So I was reading about Holy lamb ...

And thinking about the whole " Song for Harmonic Convergence" thing ...

It was a long time after Big Generator that I learned what Harmonic Convergence really was. And even then I wondered if Jon was intentionally refering to the Mayan calendar, or if it was a semantical coincidence.

And for those who don't know, Harmonic Convergence is the final period in the Mayan calendar, that began on August 17, 1987.

So I got curious about that and looked up Big Gen's release date and found one source that read 7/07/1987, which I think is wrong.

But I found multiple source that list Big Generator's release date as 9/17/1987 ... One month after the beginning of Harmonic Convergence.

I thought this was a most intersting piece of information... and thot I'd share it ...

I love Holy Lamb and I think it's perfectly placed after I'm Running. I wish he'd left the harmonic convergence out of the title. I just didn't buy that whole idea....Jack

I actually know rather little about this but am fascinated by it.

From what gather, it is a common misconception that the Mayan Calendar prophesies that " the world will end" on 2012. Rather, the calendar ends there because it is the end of a cycle of our evolution ... an end that is particularly marked by a change in our relationship with time.

It seems to me that the calendar ends there because, as a result of our new fourth-dimension reality, that calendar/methodology would cease to be accurate.
