I have both versions.
But why is/was it available via Amazon.com if it was pulled out of the shops?
The regular shops could not get hold of it, or any other internet shop for that matter!
How come Amazon had them?

I`m glad they had, so i could own both versions.
They do not differ that much, it`s more a difference in mixing.
Vangelis did not like jon`s new mix (was this really the reason why they do not work together anymore?).

Why did jon remix the album?
I know the first track is longer, he wanted that version to get out there.
But why remix, was he not happy with the initial release?

Hey Kaaskop! Always nice to find fellow Dutchmen in here...

There are more differences in PoL 1 and 2, the way the first edition was released was ofcourse ridiculous...crappy artwork, no liner notes and Change We Must is on 2 instead of Be A Good Friend Of Mine...Jon re-did the album the way he thought it should be done, The Greek Geek never replied when Jon wanted to discuss the re-release. I think Jon had every right to re-do the album, not only because it's way better, I think artistical pride also has to do something with it...

Howdie There,

Having some cheesy dip at the moment (it must be something going `round at the moment)

I know there are more differences, these were just a few that came to mind.

I must say that i do not entirely agree with you about PoL2 being way better.

I think that the first release (with their first real feelings!) is more sentimental, especially Anyone Can Light A Candle.

It`s certainly not a bad album, i should say, it comes very close to the first release.

But that`s just my opinion,

But what about the cd not being available everywhere, and only at Amazon.com?
If they were pulled out, because of the "fight", then why not at Amazon.
Could it have something to do with Jon selling his music via his site through Amazon?

Not really important to know, but we Dutchmen want to know about it (i do at least), if the info is outthere!
