:p
i have three of peter banks solo albums. both sides of peter banks, extinct and self contained. i doubt you'll be blown away
by any of his stuff but its all pretty good. this guy can play.
if your looking for bombastic guitar work, look elsewhere . but if
your looking for some tasteful, somewhat laid back (but not mellow) , give this guy a try.

Ya know I have never heard anythin gof his past his part in Yes. I wonder if I would like any of it. I do not follow him at all, did he do anything note worthy after Yes?

Two sides of Peter Banks is pretty good. I think he is pretty close to being as good a player as Howe. The album is good, real jazzy, if you like Wes Montgomery, and the first Yes album, this would be a treat.

I find INSTINCT to be a great album. I've always sought out instrumental albums and this one combines both instrumentals and prog (as well as some jazz.)
The track that made it to the YES FAMILY ALBUM, "Dominating Factor", is probably the one people will like most. I've found quite a few on there that are terrific. There are some beautiful slow pieces (with bird sounds, etc.) as well as some dark, crunchy things.
I like INSTINCT better than SELF-CONTAINED, but that one's got some good tracks, too. I'm thinking of burning a "best of" including tracks from both discs and the "Astral Traveler" that he did on the Yes tribute album TALES FROM YESTERDAY. That would make a great set!!!

Did anyone know that John Whetton, Phil Collins, and Steve hackett all play on Two sides of Peter Banks? How is it that the rivers of prog run through so many different great lakes?

I think I know where to pick up SELF CONTAINED for about 6.99. I just might grab it to check it out.
