Hi Heathcliffe, and welcome!
Do you live on the moors? Are you in love with Catherine? Do tell!
;)
Ever notice how you never hear anyone that lives on a moor complaining about Global Warming? There's a good reason for that. The dreary, dank fog of an existance far removed from a sunny beach makes one pine for the sea.And to have a use for an air conditioner.
Catherine is still living in the past and enjoying it immensely. But what's a couple of hundred years between friends? I'll tell her one of the old gang was asking after her. :D
Heathcliff
04-24-2006, 05:45 PM
And thanks to everyone for their welcomes. It beats chasing the Hound Of The Baskervilles across a foggy moor on a headless horse at midnight.
I mix too many metaphors. I should be mixing a martini. :D

Ahh, the Roof Of Devon! No, but I have enquired after it. It seems like a very nice location except for being close to a military base of some sort.
I fear it might interfere with Karma. Karma and military bases are strange bedfellows.

Welcome aboard. Any friend of Kate (or Kathy) is a friend o' mine.
Thanks. I asked her to join in the fun but she is suspicious of modern technology, thinking electricity is the root of all modern evil.
So, to this day she pines on the moors after midnight waiting for the headless horseman to bring her a laptop that runs on cockleshells and puppy dog's tails.

Dollz...so you draw those ? They're very nice. I can barely draw a straight line, much less do something like this:

Doesnt everyone ? Isnt that the reason anyone ever does laundry?
So, someone came to the door some time ago trying to sell me something I dont want/already have/dont need. In my impatience to get back to watching "Changing Rooms" reruns during the spin cycle ( They painted the room black and purple !!!!), I'd forgotten one important detail. Yes...
The young woman standing there started into her song and dance before the spectacle before her penetrated her sales-pitch addled mind.About the third sentence she stopped....and just stared as she turned the same shade of purple as the wretched living room on the TV show.
Having just noticed that it seemed rather chilly out ...and why, I said to her
"Care to join us? I'm paid up for the full hour"
And we've been together ever since. :hearts:

About watching "Changing Rooms"? One of the hosts of the show used to live on the next moor over ,and used to include "secret messages" to me in the shows.
Room painted blue=husband out of town. Being a fictional literary character=priceless.

87 of them later... has it really been that long? Are those encyclopedias still in the basement ? Or did we give them to the nice people at the halfway house?
The 44 Janes are the spitting image of their lovely mother. The 43 "Cliffys" remind me of various mailmen, tradespeople, and politicians that came to the door over the years for some reason.
Maybe it's because the front door was where it all started. And every time some hapless clod stands there pretending to be from the Gas company...
