Is anyone else amongst you fine and wonderful people a raging, passionate SOLLY'S BEARD fan.

So much so that you notice the little intricate differences between live performances ...

The Great Trevor Rabin's Signature Solo ....

Solly's Beard, to me, is a statement of brotherhood between Trevor and Steve. The night I heard Howe and Rabin solo in the same show, in Indy during the summer of '91, it was clear to me that these two artists were of a kind ...

Solly's Beard is awesome. It's a shame it's only on the rather expensive and hard to get in the US cd 9012LIVE. I have a cassette of that album. I refuse to spend 25 dollars for a CD of it. It's not long enough to be worth that much cash.

Solly's Beard is stunning. I absolutely love it. I happen to appreciate all three YES guitarists - Pete, Steve and Trevor. I still like Steve more, but to put anyone in "the doghouse" who contributed to Yes is just wrong. It's like if you work hard at your job only to be told you're worthless.

I've only heard one other Solly's Beard - one on a tape I had of a Union show from Vancouver BC.

ycantibu, I had a feeling you'd agree ...

I also have many live boots of it ... and they all have their own unique little moments.

Or maybe I'm just such a fan of it that I notice every little difference ...

While the 9012Live version is incredible (I wore that tape out many years ago) SOLLY"S BEARD continued to develop as many years and live performances went by.

On 9012LIVE SOLLY"S BEARD is just a little over 4 minutes long, but more recent Talk Tour performances clock in at well over 6 minutes ... with additions including a stunning rendition of a one-man 'DUELING BANJO'S'!!!

I appreciate that sentiment, i-and-i, about 'the doghouse', however, I'm afraid I may have given the wrong impression, calling this thread that.

Solly was Trevor's dog - when he was growing up, if I remember correctly. I've always lovingly referred to my collection of boots of that song as, THE DOGHOUSE.

I forgot about who Solly was! Silly me! More Fool Me?

Actually I didn't think YOU were putting Rabin in the doghouse. I thought it was a reference to where some "anti-generators" seem to have put Trevor Rabin.

I've never heard it. Don't own 90125 live, and I have never seen Rabin live (I was born in 1985). But I'd like to hear it...I think I'm going to use WinMX to try and get it.

Any recommendations from certain boots?
