I know everyone who is so fortunate to be attending Yes concerts this tour must be feeling a building sense of excitement.
I know I am!!
What are your plans for psyching yourself up for it?
I always include Yes in my listening rotation...but in prep for the show, I have been reviewing material that perhaps I don't listen to as often as my favorites.
And, the day of the show, well, if it ain't Yes, I ain't listening!! LOL!!! Will be sure to bring along a selection of Yes CDs to listen to going to and from the show....it will be a very Yes day!!!
Can hardly wait!!!
Peace all,
~Riff.

I'm taking what is (for me, anyway) an unusual approach to this tour. I'm not listening to any of my Yes tapes that include Rick Wakeman (so I'm sticking with Kaye, Moraz, Igor and Brislin) until July 16 (my birthday), then I plan on starting out from the beginning (Fragile, a couple of Fragile tour bootlegs I have) and listening to Yes in chronological order (albums and boots) through the duration of the tour, whenever I have the time. It would be easier to psych-up for the tour if I knew where I'm going to see Yes. I'm going to hold off on buying tickets a little longer until I know if they're going to add a show in Minneapolis.

Now this is a great subject, and one I can get excited about. This is going to be a very special summer, I can feel it! It is a Yes experience that none have had for many, many years, with these particular Yes members!
I do not yet know how I will attend a show but I am really hoping it works out. Like jcostello I am listening to Yes music day in and day out, but I am listening to songs Wakeman did. I only saw him on the Union show so I have never seen the "classic" band. What a great summer this will be!

I like to abstain from sex.....ahem....I mean from Yes before I go to a yes show (unless there's a new album involved which is not the case this tour). I want the songs I hear on stage to sound fresh and full of energy, and as if I haven't heard them for some time. So anywhere between 2 to 4 weeks before the show I'm attending, I tuck my Yes cd's away and go on a Yesfast.
The shows have been most magical for me when doing this. I don't suggest it to anyone though. It is not an easy thing to do.

But only for a month before the show! I'd go insane if I had to go any longer than that!
It's worse than waiting for Christmas!

I go on a Yesfast before going to a show - at least 2 weeks of Yes-less listening. I don't want to be tired of anything - however impossible that is anyway. The only exception I'm making this time, is that I will keep playing MAGNIFICATION regularly.

I ordered my ticket for Chicago today! I am not sure exactly where it is in the theatre though, since it doesn't show on the seating chart provided. It is a mezzanine section box Row J3, seat 4. Does anyone know where that is in the Chicago Theatre?
jcostello, are you still riding with me to Chicago? If they come to Minneapolis you can go to both concerts!
July 26th can't come fast enough for me!

I'm still kind of up-in-the-air about Chicago. Money is tight for me, so I'm only going to do one show this time. If they play Mpls., I'll just go to that show and skip Chicago. If they don't do Mpls., I'm going to Chicago. How soon do you need to know, so I don't leave you hanging?

Let me know whenever....I have my ticket and plan on going regardless of a Minneapolis show. I understand sad finances totally, I can't really afford to go either. But the desire to see Yes this summer is strong, so I'll find the cash!

If I get any more psyched I'll probably explode! I never tire of Yes music so I'm putting together my road trip setlist for Chicago. I'll be starting off with YesSongs and follow it up with all of Tales (I see a smile on Pat's face with that one). After those 2 I think it might be my YesSymphonic boot and I haven't figured out the rest yet. I need to come up with about 8 hours worth of Yes music, which won't be hard. Can't wait though!

... I know it will be hard but I am going to try the 2 week blackout before the show. So on July 4th I better play all the YES I can because starting the 5th I won't listen to YES until Konocti! Of course this won't apply to Shoreline or any other show on the tour. ;-)

It's gonna be just like last year, I know it...I was gonna go on a Yesfast for a month, but instead, I shortened it to about 2 weeks. So, July 22nd will be my cut-off day (with the exception of my b-day, which is the 25th) until the show on August 5th...Oh yeah, I'm psyched, alright!

I dunno how you guys do it....I'm hopelessly addicted. I'd have to be thrown in some sort of Yes rehab facility for the 2 weeks, and that sounds pretty hellish at best....think I'll just keep on keepin' on!! LOL!!

Every time I get USA to attend YES, the panick starts when I have the first step in the Airport ground, I feel like I'm being watched by someone who like's to steal my tickets, although they are held at the will call office, but I still panick anyway.
Then I try to get the hotel as soon as it's possible, then I have a shower and go straight to the venue area to make sure if it really exists, then I surround the venue for thirty minutes, like a lion trying to pursue a little deer. I know it's kind of sick (who told I'm not?). The day after, 3 hours before the concert, I make the same ritual, surrounding the venue, going up and coming down the streets, but with a little detail: Firebird Suite in my mouth all the time. One the most amazing experience I have is before the gates opening, while I meet huge and lovely YES fans, making different rituals, but with the same spirit.
Every concert I attend I feel I'm watching a birth. It seems that's going to be born at least 5 babies this Tour, wow...........
I guess I'm psyched too, am I wrong?

Omar,I love your interpretation of a YES show! Like a new birth! That is a classic! I never got that psyched up for YES. Going to the venue to make sure it is there. Usually I will play an awful lot of YES to get myself pumped up! But I play alot of YES everyday! So I am always ready! I think this year I am very excited now, with the addition of Rick! I think the last time I was pumped was the UNION tour. This one should be great!>JOE

What would a Yes rehab facility be like? Hmm, I can see it now: You have a Yesfan in a straightjacket, saying, "No, man, I've gotta have Ritual, Close to the Edge, those 20-minute epics!" A doctor says, "Nurse, start him on Roundabout, stat!" Either that, or it would be a place with a lot of Britney Spears fans, being rehabbed with Yes' music.
