Any info on this CD? I bought it for £3.99 (about $5-6). Dated 1999.

Illusion, did you buy it in England? I have never seen an album with this title in the United States

In England. The shop had about 10 copies of it.

The Millenium Collection is a budget repackaging of the BBC tracks released in Europe as SOMETHING'S COMING and in the US as BEYOND AND BEFORE. Although the sound quality is less than wonderful, this collection has some great performances by the first Yes line-up. I was unable to locate BEYOND AND BEFORE, so I settled for the MILLENIUM COLLECTION.

Of particular note is a song called FOR EVERYONE. This song contains the 'Disillusion' bit that was later recycled and inserted into STARSHIP TROOPER.

The BBC recordings are a must for anyone who likes Yes enough to care about their history.

I bought mine in a Sam Goody store. The packaging indicates that it's manufactured in Hamburg, Germany. There is no apparent label, but the cover says it's copyright by Digimode Entertainment, Ltd.

Does this collection have the original liner notes by Pete Banks?

If not, you'll be missing out on a particularly vitirolic overview of Yes's early years. But I suppose it will all be repeated in his forthcoming book.

The liner notes are virtually non existant. There's a sad attempt at a history of the band inside, and not a single photo of the band. I wouldn't be at all surprised if this is a bootleg/pirated/unlicensed release.

It sounds like an unlicensed version. I haven't seen that one in the racks up here in my corner of the country.

In the original notes Pete Banks is particularly upset by Steve Howe's attitude and the sharing out of royalties. He gets very bitter indeed. But some of it's in the Chris Welch book and as I said I'm sure it will reappear in his own book

Originally posted by i-and-i The Millennium Collection is a budget repackaging of the BBC tracks released in Europe as SOMETHING'S COMING and in the US as BEYOND AND BEFORE.THANK YOU, i-and-i. I was very close - on several occasions - to buying this one. I could never figure out what the "reprise"s were all about (e.g.: "Astral Traveler - reprise"). Now I see that is was just the multiple versions that were on the release (which Squire thought was ridiculous when he was told about them).

Pity, I was hoping for something that sounded cleaner than my BEYOND AND BEFORE. Looks like I would have gotten screwed on this one!

Now, for the new boxed set...
