so... in less than a week I graduate from Bennington College with a degree in... umm, I don't know, someone will remind me on graduation day I hope. I'm glad to have found this forum because Yes has been extremely important to me this semester... I honestly don't know if I could have made it through without them. They go waaayyyy beyond favorite band status... so much so that I'm ready to defend their work in the 70s as the most advanced music to have ever been writen by human beings. I'm planning on attending the show in Seatle on the 17th and I'd love to meet other Yes fans... they're few and far between around here... although I think I've inadvertently started something of fan club on campus.

Let me know if you'd like to meet up!

I know EXACTLY what you are talking about and feel the same as you. They have created the most advanced music to ever hit the planet. That they were able to forward music itself is what was so terribly exciting to me--in the days of Fragile, Close to the Edge and Tales, in particular.

So you are going to the Seattle show? Too bad you are so far away. This Yes fan would love to meet up. Alas, I am in St. Louis. But I'm going to Yescapades. Are you?

Welcome to the site!

I didn't even know what Yescapades was until you mentioned it. I hail from NY actually and I'm using Seatle as an excuse to leave the east coast for a while. So yeah, I see no reason not to go. St. Louis is on my way too so how bout I make a pit stop?

Way cool! There's going to be 5 people that I personally know that will be going to that venue. I have heard of several other folks from this site that will be going too. We should make some plans to meet up before the show. And since you are coming to St. Louis, you should plan to go to the Chicago show too--which is the next day. Looks like there is going to be a rather large gathering there. Check out the Chicago thread for details.

And regarding Yescapades...do you need details?

I didn't mean that I'd go to the St. Louis show for sure... only that St. Louis is on my way to the west coast and I'm willing to stop by and have lunch or something. Here's a clearer picture of my situation...

As previously mentioned, I'm about to graduate college and I literally have no plans aside from buying a motorcycle and driving across the country to see Yes on the west coast. Yescapades sounds too good to miss so that's a plan but after the 19th anything goes. I'm looking for fun and adventure so anyone who's willing to team up with a 23 year-old computer programming banjo-playing Yes fanatic just tell me and maybe we can start a caravan or at least get a bite to eat while I wax philosophical to you my theory that Yes is all about cognition man, cognition.

So yeah... does Yescapades cost anything? Do I just show up?

Hi ronblatt, Yes, Yescapades costs. I think it's $39 with lunch. Look under the Yes tour forum under Konocti. You'll get all the details. It starts out around noon and goes until the concert starts so you are going to want to plan on going to that show too. Let me know if you need further details.

Yes, it would be cool to meet up for lunch or something when you come through St. Louis. Keep me posted.
