View Full Version : For the ladies

Okay ladies. This poll is for you. Which member of Yes would you love to "be with" most? Try to keep it friendly and nice in here. Nothing explicit. And don't call any of the guys ugly. They could come here, you know!
Note: "be with" doesn't necessarily mean it involves a romantic affair of some kind, but it's up to you. This is all in good fun!

it was at my first concert, and i was like 12. i had given him a little beaded spider and he was all "thank you" and gave me a kiss on the cheek. then, at the next i saw him at, i got a great big hug. it was really sweet. of course, you know, my first choice isn't listed, but that's okay, we all know who he is.

Actually, with you, Tanbar, in mind - I had intended to add Tom Brislin to the poll, but I accidently miscounted my Yes personel.
When I got to Igor I saw that I was one poll option short.

There's just something magical about Jon's eyes when you meet him in person. Makes it very hard to keep standing.

Yeah, see, that's what I envision would happen to me. I guess I'll find out this year--if they show for Yescapades.

Okay...I voted but I'm not going to elaborate. Let's just say he's got quite a lead on the rest of the field.
Besides, I don't want to derogate their talent by treating them like pieces of meat.
Ha ha ha....man I almost convinced myself with that one. Who said that? Ah, I crack myself up sometimes! LOL

I don't really think of any Yes members, past or present, in a sexual way. For me, the music is too "sacred" somehow to cloud my perception with distractions! I mean, some of the guys are cuter than others, but, to me, if I want eye candy, I check out the metal bands!!! ( LOL!! Something about all that hair, leather and screaming guitars.....but, oh well!! ) Yes for me is ear candy.
So, taking that into consideration, I must, in my case, remove the quotation marks from around the words *be with* ... because for me, the greatest joy would be to BE with certain Yes members, not to be WITH them, if that makes any sense.
I'd like to hang out with Chris. He seems as if he'd be a lot of fun to buddy around with.
I'd like to discuss various philosophies with Jon. Nature, art, spirituality.
I'd like to just chat with Rick about anything....he seems to be an interesting conversationalist.
I'd like to jam awhile with Bruford.
And, I want to take piano lessons from Patrick Moraz. LOL!!!
All for now,
~Riff.

Not for a million dollars
« on: Mar 4th, 2002, 2:04am » Quote Modify

I would never...
Eat a wheelbarrow full of carrots...
Drink Lake Ontario water (again)...
Touch a spider...
Swim in a septic tank...
Go anywhere near a nude beach (in reference to a rather interesting conversation I had today with Matt, trey, and Jeff)...
Eat an entire steak...
Kiss Jon Anderson...
...not for a million dollars.
What wouldn't YOU do?

Illusion: Your suggestion would make a really great separate thread. What would I NOT do for 1,000,000 smackers? I would have to give it some thought.
I could NOT:
call someone a nigger for a million dollars.
purposely hurt, physiologically or psychologically, someone for a million dollars.
stand by and watch a bully hurt someone for a million dollars.

early and often?!?!?! ;)
I can't choose any one member I'd like to "be with." I have the utmost respect for Chris, due to his commitment to Yes. I love Jon's sense of Spirit. I've always been a fan of Steve's, Trevor Rabin is just plain good looking, and the list goes on.
I'm in the same camp as therifferoo, and usually am! I think of The Boys as very Spiritual, and that puts them on a different level for me. Kind of like Harrison Ford. As much as I think he's "the greatest thing since sliced bread," I can't bring myself to think about, well, you know...
And how does one get to meet the band?!?!? I'm reading Tanbar, Wheelsolias and Devotee...you've *met* these guys?!?!?! How on earth did you get the priviledge?!?!?! Must have been unbelievable!!!
Riff, you and I have got to meet up some time at a show or something!

If you want to meet them, all you have to do is go to Yescapade which has been held every year at the Konocti Resort in California. I imagine Bob and Cher will keep it going till it wears them out.

I would suggest you leave a private message for Cherokee. She is listed on Yesfans. She and Bob are the ones who run the affair every year. Well, I hope every year. It is usually in the summer when Yes is touring. You know Jon lives (San Luis Obispo) in California now, so I guess they book quite a few concerts in California.

i voted for em all.. hehe.. [i didnt vote-just couldnt-like picking a favorite brother or uncle]
once in high school, we were at a huge party-the whole class was there-around 500 people or so.
i was fully aware of yes way before that party, and of course, yes wasnt music to be played at a party-even back then-.
i told my friends close by, "if jon anderson walked in here right now, i would give up my viriginity to him!" and right then-d'yer maker was done playing and the whole house got real quiet-SO.. now everyone began trying to figure out who jon anderson was [which year would he graduate?-haha] and even worse, they KNEW i was still a virgin!!:stick: :crybby:
i feel differently now-along the lines of riff and others who wouldnt want to taint the 'memories' and 'feelings' with mere sexual pleasure.. [lol!]
and my life was forever changed when jon kissed my cheek in 91 and i smelled his hair and cologne..i havent been able to find that shampoo yet, but i still look often..
as for conversation and knowledge, it would have to be jon-i need some of that 'inner peace' he seems to have..and i want to know howe to get there, too..
[it was GROOVY meeting ya, mak! glad to see ya here!!]

YES it is good to be home but I would love to be with you all still. As a matter of fact I don't want to be at work. I think Tim and I could have a little more fun and figure out our issues in London with Olias.. Weren't Julie and Olias dolls? What is Ev's site name? Oh, everyone was so cool. I'll see you guys soon I'm sure. The virginity thing - who cares...I bet that Anderson would have oblidged if he only new. You know it might have given you some peace and opened a new world for you...he couldn't resist helping you out in that way.

even if i had had the chance to do the 'horizontal mambo' with our man, jon, it could have never meant as much to me as all his words, thoughts, ideas and prayers have meant over the years.
i am glad it never happened [sour grapes? nope!] because i can still keep him in my sacred spot in my heart and soul without all the 'trappings' that come along with sexuality..
i am just grateful he is HERE.. NOW..writing-sending out peace and goodwill to all..soothing battered souls and trying to 'fight the good fight'..

i think it's just for US, too!

Well, like Riff, I don't usually think of Yes members in a sexual way. The music, and the experience is quite spiritual.
However, I was quite infatuated with Chris in the 70's, and he still exudes an earthy sensuality. So, I would choose him, definitely!
Would rather just hear them play though!

For most of you the thought of "getting close" to your favorite would mean (1) “If I wasn't married”, (2) “If he wasn't married” and (3) “If he was attracted to me, too...”
I have a fourth to deal with (4) “If he was queer...” So my odds are a lot worse than yours. (And I'm no "lady".)
I do have a favorite Yes band member: Alan White.
Alan was a pretty boy when he joined the band. He had that Peter Frampton look that was so popular: long, wavy blond locks, cute face, nice bod and a great smile. A lot of women thought he was very cute & sexy back then.
I agree that he has always been very photogenic, but my tastes lean towards older, more mature guys. I guess that makes me lucky because you’ve seen all the photos you’re going to of him when he was still a 20-something. For me, Alan's just getting sexier by the day, so the newer photos are what I enjoy. I would much rather watch him on the KEYS TO ASCENSION video than on YESSONGS. And I really liked his interview on YESSPEAK because he they had him out on his boat in a tank top.
I’ve had the good fortune to speak to him on three occasions and he’s just as hot up close as he is in all those photos.
Sorry to elbow in on your discussion, girls, but Alan’s too hot for me not to shout “Whoa, Baby!!” (Or, in my case, “Go Daddy!”)
