Howdy, talk about Roger Dean surrealism, the Black Rock Desert can give you some good visuals. I will be attending my second Burningman this year. Would love to meet up with other YES-Burners.....
Last year my RV mate and I had YES going all week!

What, no burners in this whole group?
Looks like.
I've never been and am only vaguely acquainted with the event. Would you tell us more please?

I was considering going to Burning Man this year, until I saw the price of the tickets. I live in Reno though, which is the nearest major city to the Black Rock desert.

Seems extreme, but some of you may be paying that for a couple of tickets to YES. Granted YES is a mind altering experience and I think well worth the money. In fact I am going to 3 shows and will be in the first 20 rows for each.
Burningman? Hard to explain, you can check out the site here:

It is a creative, art exhibit where all attendees are part of the palette. You will see everything there. Last year someone build the Emerald City with giant green laser lights shooting out of the top. It is the biggest party I have ever been to and it never stops building to a crescendo on Saturday night when they torch the man!
Not for the weak, faint of heart, children or pets. This is an Adult Disneyland.
Hope that helps.....
Thanks Glendo, it sounds like a LOT of fun! This year All of my $$$ is going to Yes though. Maybe on a year when Yes is not touring. As intrigued as I am about this, I'm still hoping that Yes always tours forever. Perhaps I just need to win the lottery so I can do both!
if only you knew

...Konocti, Shoreline, Santa Fe, then home to work 4 days then off to Burningman....Tickets to shows and air fare to New Mexico will run a good $500, BM about $400 with food, partyables and a share of the RV. Very expensive summer, but I get paid from work all 9 days that I will miss!!!!! Woo-Hoo.
Didn't know Todd was there but have seen a number of well known people there. Heard the rumor that Todd was there.

...is the theme of Burningman2002. Sounds sort of Roger Dean-like. I would love to make an art carthat looks like a Roger Dean design.
