CTTE is the first Yes album that I got, and I'm really into it (I'm new here). I have been listening to it over and over again. But I can't figure out one thing. On Siberian Khatru, is there guitar in the main Wakeman eastern-inspired keyboard theme? I hear guitar parts coming in later. But is there any on that main theme? I've been off work for two weeks and I have to go back tomorrow. I will have to go all day without hearing CTTE. I'm going to have withdrawal symptoms...

CTTE is your FIRST yes album? Damn! You really know how to jump into it, don't you?

Welcome to the site, Sibkhat. CTTE is, and has always been, my all-time favorite album. Yes or otherwise.

Wow!

Great question! You really listen don't you?!

I never thought about that! But I do think there is a chord played by Steve on the first beat of the 2nd measure of Rick's Harpsichord solo. Maybe not though. I think there Steve is playing the 6 ascending chords on the 5th measure of the Harpsichord solo, right before going into his magnificent aand glorious Steel solo (more proof that he is the greatest guitarist in history!). I have not listened to it in a long time. I am thinking of the studio version right now in my head.

Keep listening and keep posting!

Welcome again!

If the theme you are referring to is the one right after the intro,
then yes! The guitar matches up the chord sequence with the mellotron.
This creates a "muddy" chorusing effect, since mellotrons are virtually
imposiible to tune accurately (or in the immortal words of Robert Fripp:
"Tuning a mellotron doesn't!"), which is essential to the tracks "eastern"
flavour.
