A 7 as well here.
It would have been a 5 if not for Rick's narration on the `behind the scenes' feature. I love the way he jokes around about Chris.

Rick's narration makes this a priceless possesion in my opinion..

7.5

I've given it an 8. I would have given it more had it not suffered from the fundamental fault of being too short.

Ugh, sorry, but I thought this was awful...from a video production standpoint both this and YESSPEAK were really poor, in my opinion. Not good representations of the band. Yes, Rick is always funny, and the music really was not all that bad, but to me this is an example of second-rate production ruining a first-rate band.

Hi all,
Sorry, I thought it was awful. Pointless. Nor do I care for Rick's humour these days. Still as someone who hangs around with tossers like Jim Davidson, I suppose I shouldn't expect anything more sophisticated.

They had an opportunity while their enthusiasm and morale was high to do something exciting and new. And they made this?

Instantly forgettable. I no longer own a copy.

I don't like it.....It's hardly "acoustic".

I thought it was poor not the usual Yes professionalism at all. I thought Tiger Rag was awful and the band just didn't seem as if they were putting the effort into this. Rick's SOH may have been OK had the quality of the music been better but as it was it added to the unprofesionalism of the whole DVD IMHO.
The only saving grace for my copy is that it is signed by the whole band....I went to the signing event for this DVD.

Hi all,
I've said elsewhere before that I was not that thrilled at the return of Rick Wakeman in '02; I felt that the Symphonic Tour had been a successful one and had laid a lot of promise down for the future and offered a lot of potential for new directions to be explored, and then back comes Rick to capitalise on the upcoming 35th anniversary, to put bums on seats and to half-fill cavernous arenas!

At least one would have thought that the restoration of the 'classic' line up would have brought forth some new music; giving their track record one might be forgiven for hoping that being together again would have burst the dam and set their creative juices flowing again. But what did we get? YesAcoustic!

Yeah, damn right I was disappointed!
And I gave the 35th Anniversary Tour a miss too, the first UK tour I've missed since Topographic Oceans in '73. The return of Wakeman was a retrogressive move, not a progressive one. He's done nothing new of worth since Going For The One, just repeated himself and repackaged himself as a daytime TV guest!

If they could still do it and mean it, they would have done and meant it. They haven't and they don't!
It's over.

All best wishes,
Ash

I can't give it more than a 5.

As for Rick's sense of humour . . . well I've heard all three of his jokes and both his hilarious anecdotes many times now. Check back through the archives: he regurgitates the same stories time after time like a sad old uncle. Sorry if that annoys people. Just saying it as I see it.

I remember the day when I bought Yes acoustic DVD.
I was going to CD shop to find some new food for my ears.
After half hour I was decided to buy one CD from Al Jarreau and George Benson. In last time I've see Yes Acoustic, and I bought it.
I like Jon's and Rick's jokes but I was expected more music and full time versions of songs.

In my opinion, it would have been a wonderful bonus on "Tsongas", but as a full priced DVD it's not that great. But it's interesting and quite funny, especially Wakey's narrative.

Heart of the Sunrise?!
Haven't you got the CD? I think it isn't on the DVD...(must search for it), but there is a CD version of that concert with an acoustic version of Heart of the Sunrise. The CD includes more tracks than the DVD...there is also an "Clap/To be over" track on it...

I enjoy playing it from time to time. It's so different from most of their video. Of course I was well aware of the content and the shortness, but it's well done, humorous, and entertaining. I'm a fan of the "acoustic" style, so these arrangements work well with me.

I saw a special on Les Paul a week or so ago and they showed a very old video of him and Mary Ford playing a song quite similar to the "Tiger Rag"... I think it was the same song...

I gave it an 8, looks good, sounds good, and the material is good, really good!

9/10 here. I picked it up used for $5.99 at a local used CD/DVD store. My only complaint is that its too short. However what is here is damn enjoyable and fun to watch.

Yup!

And the acoustic DVD is good. I gave it a seven. An acoustic version of GATES would have kicked it up to ten...

I enjoyed the exploration, but it was a little like staying on the steps into a pool. Sure they got their feet wet, but it wasn't as refreshing of a plunge as they could have taken. It was still a good purchase.

Not one I'll be digging out very much - I preferred it as part of the main set on the 35th Anniversary tour (why oh WHY didn't it include A Venture????)
