Hey,
I heard from my brother that KQRS (Twin Cities classic rockstation) was talking up Yes yesterday, and especially Wakeman. They said that the Tour hasn't been announced to be in MN, but that there will definitely be a MN tourdate soon. This is a dilemma for me, because I am either going to Chicago to see them, or waiting to find out about a MN date.
Does anyone here have any "inside info." ? Should I just get Chi-town tix to be safe, or is it a well known thing that Yes will be touring EVERYWHERE in the USA?

I hope you're right HTB, I'll see 2 shows then since I've got a ticket for the Chicago show. I'd play it safe and get a ticket for Chi-town Harold.
KQRS talking up Yes? They're playlist for Yes consists of ISAGP, Roundabout and Owner. I'm surprised anyone over there knows of Yes, lol.

I too am hoping for minneapolis date and heard the comment on about the tour on kqrs. I havent gotten any tickets yet for any yes shows this summer, money is tight. I am wondering if anyone is planning to go to chi town or kansas city. Maybe we can get a group to go!!!
Maybe we can campaign for kq to sponser and PROMOTE a show here in mpls. there looks to be an open date the 28th or the 30th.
Lets get a minneapolis show.;) ;)

I just don't understand why they skip MN almost every tour! They pretty much sold out the State Theatre on the last tour, so why skip it this time? Especially when it's such a big tour that will SURELY sell out?!?!?!? Look at all the cities they are playing that will definitely be filled with people who got free tix or cheap ($10) tix. Cayahoga falls, Mansfeild, Columbia?, Santa fe? MN would sell way more tickets than those cities will. I also think it makes Yes look bad when they choose odd cities to play. Who would they rather play for? A crowd of enthusiastic fans who give standing ovations for every song like MN does, or to people that just wanted something to do for the night, and don't know any Yes songs other than owner?

I agree that KQ should sponsor the show and do it as a "Listener Appreciation Show," with tickets that cost $9.92 or $9.25 or something like that. I'll tell you what: I know the people who put on the concerts at the Minnesota Zoo, the Orpheum/State Theatres, and Canterbury Downs. I'll check to see what I can find out about the negotiations for Yes, and also encourage them to book the show. I don't know how much good it will do, but hey, it's worth a shot.
Peace, Love, and I'd Really, Really Like to See/Hear Yes Do a Show Here!,

I look at this in terms of karma: When Yes came here on the "Ladder" tour, Jon's voice was ravaged by illness, and although he performed like a starship trooper despite his condition, it was a little disappointing, especially the fact that "Awaken" was cut from the setlist. Yeah, I know they were here for "Magnification," but I also remember seeing Rick and Adam Wakeman blow away a crowd at the Cabooze a few years ago. The Twin Cities loves Rick (I think we've always thought of him as a kindred spirit here in Vikingland, especially after his appearance as Thor in Ken Russell's "Lisztomania"), and we've been waiting 11 years for this, so if Steve or anyone else associated with the band is reading this, PLEASE come here!

I hate to be a pessimist, but I don't think Yes is coming to Mpls. on the summer tour. I asked KQ about them trying to get Yes to come here, and they're not doing anything. I talked to the person I know who does PR at the State and Orpheum theatres, and it doesn't look like that's going to happen, either. The other bummer, for me anyway, is that apparently the Chicago show is sold out. I heard from someone that they're sold out, and when I tried to order tickets online from Ticketmaster, it couldn't find any available at any price level.
Peace, Love, But It Looks Like I'm Going to Miss Out on the Rick Reunion,
John C.
