Thanks for answering Kelly. Would you mind if I emailed you a couple of questions? I am clueless when it comes to the Detroit area. Are you local to Detroit?

I guess I just got lucky...I also got 5th row for Chicago...I know there are alot of pissed off people as a result of ticket master/pre-sale, but it sure worked out for me...I was on-line at 1O:00, and put the order thru at about 10:03...this will be about my 25th YES concert...I've seen every tour since 1977, but these are about the best seats I've had...I once had row 3 at Madison Square Garden (NYC) but that was when Drama came out and no John Anderson....both these shows the seats are on Steve's side....I wish at least one of them was on Chris's side....

Hi All:

My friend Mike is going to see them in Detroit (he is from Ohio though) and he doesn't know too much about Detorit, so I am asking for him and not for me (I am in Rhode Island).

If anyone is having a pre-shoe get together, he would like to hang out before hand and go through the grapevine to find a cheapish hotel as he has been out of work since last year (gasp).

I am on the forum but he isn't and I thought I'd see if I could find him a few fellow Yesfans to hang out with for the evening.

You can email me and I'll get back him.

Any help and info for him would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

Allison

Unfortunately, I won’t be able to make the Detroit show because I made previous plans to go to the air show in Oshkosh, Wis. that weekend. I’m going to try to squeeze in the Chicago date, though. Anyway, if any out-of-towners need a few suggestions on where to meet before/after the show here’s a couple:

The Town Pump, which is located just down the street from The Fox. I’ve been there once (before a Joe Jackson show at The State), and I liked the friendly pup atmosphere. Didn’t eat there, though. From what I’ve read and heard it’s been recently expanded to accommodate more people.

Hockeytown Café is right across the street from The Fox. I’ve been there a few times for dinner and the food’s OK (somewhat overpriced, too). A huge place with three floors a patio and a deck, this the place to go if you want to party (being a hockey fan doesn’t hurt, either). You can enter The Second City from here too if you want to catch a comedy act.

Cheers!

I checked with Ticketbastard (excuse my French, but I hate that $%#&! company) about Chicago, and found out that the only tickets left are the $80s, and the seat would be obstructed view. Don't think I'll be doing that. And they're not playing Minnie, unless a surprise last-minute announcement is coming (I'm not holding my breath waiting for it).

Detroit is on a Saturday, and I REALLY want to see Yes with Rick again, so what the heck, if I can catch a free flight there (I think I have enough frequent-flyer miles for a round-trip; I'll have to check on that), Detroit looks like the best bet. Kansas would have been more logical (cheapest tickets on the tour, only slightly longer drive than Chicago, Bonner Springs is hopefully a more pleasant place than Chicago, although I've never been there, so who knows?), but I might have a new job by that time (my uncertain employment situation has made it really hard/impossible to plan for any Yesshows this summer), and a Saturday show seems easier to schedule around than a Tuesday show.

Peace, Love, and Maybe Motown,

John C.

Yes, we are going to the show... coming from Pittsburgh... my girlfriend and daughter and myself. My girlfriend has been to see Yes with me, but this will be my daughter's first concert. I am sure I have put myself in the position to have to take her to see one of HER bands after this show, but that's OK.
We will be at the Lindell for the pre show gathering as well... hope to see all you folks there!

I went to the show in Kansas on Tuesday (awesome concert!), so I won't be going to Detroit. But if you're going, enjoy the show.

Peace, Love, and Wish I Had the Cash to Go to Every Show on the Tour,

John C.

well, all good people, the fox show is over, and i was so happy to be there [was also lucky enough to hit mansfiled show in mass] i just wanted to thank michele marie, mike and ken for all thier work trying to get everyone together-the placemats were beautiful!! i gotta tell you, it was a bit disconcerting to walk into a bar i'd never been at and have people i never met asking to see my yes tattoo, when i never posted my face-only the tattoo and my shoulder! alas, we had a great time-plenty of pictures and lots of hugs, too. one big happy Yes family!! ;) my husband had made some bumperstickers and magnets, as well as some cool name tags for us all to wear or keep as souvenirs-i had a great time passing them all out to everyone-they were all so jazzed at the colors and different logos he chose.. the fox pins from michele [?] were great too! beautiful, celestial looking things-i still have mine on my luggage and camera bag!! we also had a great time at the hockeytown cafe afterwards-got a chance to talk to a few fans we had met previous but didnt get a chance to see b4 the show. i had the honor of attending with ten of my closest friends, and i will never forget the looks of awe on their faces [at least the two with us who had never seen Yes] during Awaken.. a moment to be remembered.. we had a small get-together at my younger brothers house on friday b4 show, and all three of my brothers were there-ages-46, 42, and 30-i came to realize that each of my brothers had seen the band with me, and they all three could be put in different 'eras' of the yes life. billy would be a trooper, jeff would be a relayer and pat would be a generator-howe funny i hadn't realized it before!! wonderful venue, the Fox-it seems to command better manners-wait till intermission before you get your beer or go potty, etc.. and please, sit the hell down during the quiet parts-i love to dance as much as the next guy, but i wanted my 10 year old to see wakey for the first time unobstructed [this was his 7th Yesshow-first with wakeman] and thank you very much to the nice hispanic gentleman who gave-yes, GAVE me the new talk interactive.. all because i gave him a few magnets and stickers.. he told me he would see me after the show, but it was so hectic [and hotter than the hubs of hades] that i just forgot all about it.. at hockey town, it was packed, but he sought me out and handed me the cd!! another Yes moment-good will abounds at these get togethers..cant wait for next tour-will just have to console myself with tull and his 'living WITH the past tour' till next time!
