What do these songs mean?!

I'm surprised no one's posted/asked this on here already, and I know this can only lead to a long answer, but...

What's the message of Close to the Edge? Or even Khatru? What was the origional intent and meaning of these songs? I really don't think Jon was singing about nothing like some bands do today to be rediculous. I did read one person's perspective, and he made some good points, but I'm still not sure what the songs meanings are. Comments? Questions? Snide remarks?

As for Siberian Khatru, nobody really knows that I've ever heard. I don't even think Jon knew at the time let alone now.... It seems to be one that yopu apply your own meaning to..... CTTE, well that's for another thread.... or discussion, but my short feelings on it are that it's simply being on the edge of discovery, of all life itself. You're so close until you finally think you've found it, only to discover that you're still wavering on the edge....

The true beauty of many a Yes song are the individual and very different meanings one can arrive at. Many iddferent ones are indeed true... True to the listener at least.....
