View Full Version : tragic attempt at chicago tickets for me :(

I just had a terrible time trying to get Yes tickets for Chicago. My credit card had expired and I didn't notice. I had pit seats held but the ticketmaster page wouldn't take my account changes for 24 hours :(

Bottom line - only mediocre seats left now. I'm sooo bummed. I've been watching the site everyday to see when tickets would be on sale and now thanks to my stupidity, I won't be sitting in great seats. I'm such an idiot!!!

Anybody have 2 extra tickets to the chicago show????

Thanks a ton!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh Paul, I feel so badly for you! The only way I was able to get reasonable seats was to purchase singles. These internet pre-sales are not offering many choice seats. I could not even buy in St. Louis or Kansas. They're that bad.

Hopefully someone will be able to assist you.

hey guys I feel your pain
I plugged in at 10am and got like 30th row center and tried to get better seats - what i got was f*cked...
the only guy to get really good seats was yeshead and he's dialing in from michigan - while i'm happy for him there out to be someway for people who live in the area where the show is being performed to get a slight jump - the good seats were quickly gone...so i've bit the bullet and contacted my ticket broker
I'm quite pissed though having been a yes fan for so long and being loyal - what does it get you - nothing i've to over 20 shows
and never had this bad a problem getting tickets...and yes the computer system is weird and its crashed now - i've been trying to get back on the site to check on what seats are left and every time i got to the tickets portion it crashes out...what a joke...

once again the real fans get screwed and the ticket brokers and haves have the good seats ...i'm left with no choice what a drag

later gang
hope to see everyone there

:(

My only other hope is to wait until the public sale starts and maybe luck out on the phone :(

30 years of Yes and this is the closest I've come. It hurts.

For the Universal show here in LA: the subscribers got first dibbs, and the rest of us get the dregs.....

I was able to get 2nd row center a couple of weeks before the show a few years ago that way. They buy them up in blocks, and hold onto them. Eaking them out slowly. eek indeed.

It will be upwards to $200.00 a seat, but so it goes. And when speaking with the agency yesterday, they said they wouldn't have them for a couple more weeks: I don't believe them: I'll check again today, tomorrow, pester them until I get something decent...

*sigh*

Boy, do I feel lucky! I ended up with MNFL3L Row DD. This will be the best seats I've had at a Yesshow!! I'm looking forward to the 6-8 hour drive with my Yes CD's at full volume!

....yup...I got royally f*@ed also. Similar experiences...mediocre at best seats, way off to the side. And then site too busy. And then site crashing. And then f*@ed some more. TICKETMASTER BLOWS!!!!!!

Here's the thing...

Not only was I trying from where I work in a near suburb, but my best friend was trying from the CNA building right around the corner from the theater. We figured we'd both snap up the best 2 we could get and sell the other two....we ended up with NONE.
My friend had 3 different computers going simulataneously (systems analyst!) and STILL couldn't get in or got offered seats under the balcony or 30 rows back way on the side. She tried for hours. I tried on and off throughout the morning and again in the afternoon and this evening. Now there isn't even any $80 seats at all being offered.

I'm not only bummed, but pissed. I have been going to Yes concerts since 1976 and this just burns me.

So, either I don't eat for a week or so and go through a broker, or I take my chances and buy a single seat the night of the show and have my best friend do the same, and hope we get something decent that way. WTF???? TICKETMASTER BLOWS!

I was feeling so good about the pre-sale seats I got (5th row in Chicago, and orchestra pit for Detroit)...Then I see this forum and hear all the horror stories from fellow YESHEADS who got a bad deal (or no deal at all) on seats..I wish I knew what to tell you for the public sale..I had my ticketmaster profile filled out ahead of time..once I saw saw the box change from "no tickets available at this time" to "enter password" I was flying...It was about 10:01 when I placed the order...the funny thing is a firend of mine was on at the same time (we were talking on the phone to compare seats) and the seats he got were even better, but there was a problem with his credit card, and could not get the order to go thru...I suugest trying again when the public sale is...you just never know, there is no logic to the ticketmaster system...

Hangin there.....

....and still got f*@ed without a kiss.

Congrats on your seats......

....me, I'm feeling um, as Alice Cooper woulda said:

Again, let me reiterate: TICKETMASTER BLOWS!!!!!!!

Still bummin in Chicago

....but did you mean TicketBastard?!

i think what i'm going to do is try again during the public sale. if i get better seats i KNOW i can get rid of the first set. it's not difficult these days with ticket exchange sites. and some poor yes fans are probably unaware that yes is even touring! so they'd be happy to take "poor" tics off my/your hands, rather than the other option of not seeing them at all.

i wish ya' the best!!!

As you know this was only a pre-sale, and depending on how this venue had that set up, there could be more (or better seats still to come)...perhaps for the next sale, call Ticketmaster via phone, and forget about the on line non-sense....good luck guys...it is guys like us who feel like we deserve the best seats, afterall we are the fans that have support YES throughout the years (about 25 myself), and the band is really playing for us die hards- and not to make new "hit" music....

Best of Luck

....but I'll be damned if I will get screwed by Ticketmaster, oh, excuse me, as I was so correctly directed by if only you knew, Ticketbastard again. I can just see it now: try by phone get chitty to mediocre seats, if even able to get through. Try by computer, same. And at this point, I'm so pissed I'll be damned if I give them my money at all anyway. (Plus, an $8.00 service charge per ticket??? WTF??? The first time I saw Yes my ticket cost $6.00!!!!) I'm not going to rely on tickets from them ever again. They blow.

Guess I'll just go hungry for a week and dish out to a broker.

Anyone care to donate any canned goods? I prefer veggies!! LOL!!

~Riffer.

p.s. Hey Yeshead?? Can I sit in your seat for a song, please???
Just one song????? Purty please?????? LOL!

If my buddy has to take a walk away from his seat to hit the restroom (or something else) we can swap ticket stubs and share the seat for a song or two.....I play on finding a pub or somethig nearby for us YES family members to meet at (Last Year it was the Hyatt at the Aire Crown Theater)...I know what you mean about ticketmaster..$8.00 per seat service charge??? I saw Led Zeppelin in NYC in 1977, and the ticket price was $6.50 (I still have the stub)....

I wonder what the YES management or band members think about this...

I didn't really expect you to offer me your seat for a song or two....I was just making a joke!!!! That was really nice of you to say that!!! AREN'T YES FANS JUST THE GREATEST??

As far as finding a place to meet...the only place I can think of offhand is actually right on the same side of State street as the theatre, and just a building or two away, I think...It's called Govnors Pub, if I remember correctly...just dunno how crowded it may be that night...Any other suggestions???

Again, thanks for being so kind, Yeshead!!! That was very sweet!
