View Full Version : Jon preparing new solo work
I've read in Yes news letter today that Jon has started working on a new solo album using Mac technology (and sponsored by the brand I suppose), in his home studio. He intends to play all instruments. He says he will keep us informed on the progress of his work.

Great news, eh ?
Wonder what direction he will take this time ?
Will it be another Olias or EarthMotherEarth or The More We Know ?
If he is playing all instuments and using Apple Mac sounds less likely to be a The More We Know IMO.
What do you guys think ?
Let's hope it sound more like an Olias !

I believe there is a site that you can log onto to have a listen to how its going or Jon talking about the project.
If I can locate the site i will post it with a bit more info.

Trooper1129, you're always so helpful!
And like Flo, I'm hoping that if it must resemble something--I hope it resembles Olias more than The More You Know. But I'd bet that Jon has many surprises in store for us--Oh Goodie! He has such a breadth of knowledge of so many genres. What a genius! I can't wait to buy it.

The new album Jon is working on oncve agaion shows his absolute determiniation to stay in the picture music wise, his cretivity is without any limit and that is one of the reasen I love his muci that much, it always offers something you havent hea'rd before...
When I met Jon in Amsterdam last november he told me that one of his projects actually IS the follow up to Olias (Son of Olias) but I don't know if this one is that particular project. I read somewhere that Jon has 5 albums ready for release...ok bring in the first one soon please...!

5 albums ready for release? How can he keep us waiting like that? Sounds too good to be true.

yes, it is taking too long by now...come on Jon!
By the way, my apologies for the typos in the message above, must read it back before I send it in. The albums I know of are: Chagall - Songs From The Spirit Game (the Apple thing) - Millennium Child - Festival Of Dreams - True You True Me (with Khoroshev) and he also made an album while staying in Hawaii, so I expect that one to be Earthmotherearth like. Whatever happened to the music Jon recorded with musicians and singers from China I don't know, together with the re-release of Animation that would make a total of 7(!) albums...but some of the stated titles could ofcourse very well be the same album.
Now I wonder if he still has Vangelis' telephonenumber...

I'm still catching up with old recordings from Jon. Yessiree recommended a few albums to me and I'm ordering two of them - Toltec and Angel Embrace - very shortly.
I'm really looking forward to the re-release of Animation - another yessiree recommendation - and of course Chagall. But all the other albums news to me. Great News.
I suppose we will have to wait awhile for them if they are in post production. Especially with the Classic Yes tour round the corner.
But that's OK. They will be worth the wait !

I sure hope so. When Jon gets together with Vangelis, it's pure magic.
Trevor, I'm so glad you are getting your Jon collection in order. You're going to be happy you did!

thanks for the welcome...I feel at home here, can I take off my shoes now? : )
The Toltec album of Jon is next to Olias his most spiritual one, an album that has to be heard from beginning to end, so much power and energy, who can listen to the closing Ave Verum with dry eyes?? Especially the very first time...
About Vangelis & Jon; the chance of them working together is pretty slim, they had a big argument when Jon re-released the Page Of Life album on his own with different mixes and a total different cover art, the Greek Freak wasn't amused...

Please take your shoes off. Mine are!
Yes Toltec needs to be heard from the beginning to end. It's so wonderful.
And I'll bet you are correct about Jon and Vangelis but I sure do wish they would put that behind them to unleash the magic that lies within.
