The band have, it seems, finished recording their parts for the album, with the orchestra being recorded in May. The German newspaper Hamburger Morgenpost reported (3 May) that the album will be released in Sep.
The album consists of a single long piece divided into 12 tracks.
The above is quoted from the where are they now site. It also mentions there that Alan did do some keyboard work, and there will be someone with the band on tour to play keys, but it didn't say who it would be.
There will also be a live single cd released before the new YesSymphonic. It is taken from the Holmdel show and features Gates, Rituals and a new studio track.

I suppose they COULD be recording these symphonic tracks RIGHT NOW! After all it isn't only May, but Mid-May!
Alan is supposedly doing some tracks on the organ, or at least the group seems to be writing on the organ an piano. On the www.yesworld.com site there are about 20 pictures of the band in the studio taken very recently! Check it out!

Actually, It seems I was right. They ARE recording the orchestrra tracks right now:
New album
Yes's still untitled, new album has been largely recorded. The album uses an orchestra (and the band will be playing with orchestras on tour too—see below). The orchestral arranging and conducting duties fell to Larry Groupé, who describes himself as a "temporary mascot member". He will also be conducting local orchestras on tour. The initial recording sessions with the four band members ran until about Apr at Sound Design in Santa Barbara, Calif. The orchestra was recorded in May at Todd-AO Scoring Stage in the CBS Studio Centre, Studio City. Final overdubs and post-production are taking place at a house in Bel Air. The album has been tracked and mixed on Pro Tools. A report (scroll down to Digi Boy) from an engineer on the project said the album would be out around the end of Jun, although the German newspaper Hamburger Morgenpost reported (on 3 May) that it will be released in Sep.
The album consists of a single long piece divided into either 10 or 12 tracks (reports are contradictory). Writing for the album began over a year ago. Last Jul, Anderson said: "It's going to be wild and wonderful and wacky - a sort of 'Tales from Topographic Oceans Revisited'." In an interview, Howe was asked whether the "thematic and longer format" of the Masterworks tour is going to continue on the new album—he replied: "We hope that by doing this, we learn to understand [...] that we need bigness to find the dynamics. We've got to have lots of dynamics." There are reports that Anderson has said the epic piece was inspired by Stravinsky.

Is it at SLO like Keys and OYE?
I will be in southern California in early june and was wondering
if there is any chance of a sighting if I went looking.

The post you replied to states Santa Barbera. Go to the link at the bottom of my post and read through the current Yes information, which is updated alot! There are links to the actual studio's website and you can get a virtual photo tour. Also on yesworld.com there are pictures of Yes in that very studio recording. The studio is called Sound Design and the orchestra is being recorded at CBS studios.

Hmmmmmm.:WH:
I was forwarded a comment from a source on a "Pro-Tools" site, which is a site like YESFANS, only for fans of the computer program "pro-tools", which Yes used to record their new album. According to a post on this site, Yes is in "A house in Bel Air" right now doing the final mixing and mastering. This same source said that the actual album will be out in June or July, so it's ALMOST time to start getting antsy huh?
.................................................. .....
I can't believe yes is still putting out albums sometimes. I mean, think about how many people will actually buy it? Not enough to make it worth the while in a record companies eyes. Yet someone still puts up the $$$. Which is fortunate for people like us. There are people that have made more money in thier careers than Yes ever did, yet can't get anyone to sponsor a musical release of theirs due to them sucking so bad, and not being able to make sales. Yes must be doing something right to still be around. In a way it proves my theory that music like Yes did in the 70's will come back to a newer generation and become underground, much like Rap and Techno did, only this will be different of course. And it couldn't happen to the neo-prog bands for it would have by now. It's going to be bands like Radiohead and the like, only they are goingot have to be original nad not rip off bands like Yes, but be as creative. There is obviously still a Yes Audience, and when you think about it it really is amazing considering the Brittney/Puffy/Rage trendies that listen to 'music' these days.
My question, who is bigger? Dream Theatre, or Yes? And I don't mean the whole who's bette thing, just who is bigger in a record label's eyes?

First Post so it's not going to be too exciting.
Anyway, if this information is correct about the style in which they are doing their new album, I think the anticipation for the release date is going to be incredible.

You are right! Many are skeptical, but I am thinking that we can expect it before the end of July.
