I bought myself The Yes Story Gold for my birthday, and I'm not quite satisfied with this collection. I guess it's mostly because I wouldn't have bought it had I know what it actually was. I thought I was getting all Yes, but actually only 1/3 of the whole collection was actually the whole band. All the other tracks just don't sound like the Yes that I wanted. Does anybody else feel this way? :frown:

Quite simple - Yes sold the rights to certain recordings some years ago and the new owners of the songs repackage them in whatever way that suits their commercial interests and Yes have no say in it. You can tell whether a Yes product is official (apart from 90125 & BG) by seeing whether a Roger Dean logo is used. Anything without a Dean logo is not an official Yes product.

Also - this CD is NOT the Yesstory (one word) referred to in this forum.

Dean is the stuff man!

The official SEAL of YES.

If there's a Roger Dean cover to it, you can feel assured.

Roger Dean: The sixth member of the band...

Ah. Ok thanks for the info. I appreciate it.

Sry bout having the wrong forum. There was nothing else and I really wanted to know what was up with these CDs... too bad I can't return them. What a waste of $13. specially for somebody like me...

So "Live in Philadelphia" is official? I always understood this was not the case.

As far as I understand it this is an official release though it might not have started out that way.
