I must admit...When I try to answer this question...which is my favorite cut.. I cannot have an answer. The whole speaks incredibly HUGE volumes of life and Love and the pursuit of all Spiritual Truth. If there has to be a "best" then the Earth should stop spinning as there is no "Best" never has been, never can be.

I love this music...IHAVE BEEN LISTENING FOR TWENTY FIVE YEARS NOW. I wonder if one day I will wake up with all of my other Yes Heads and find myself exactly where I am supposed to be.

Yes, they are pretty special, aren't they!

It's really hard to decide which song is better than another - not just on GOING FOR THE ONE, but in the catalog of any group or singer I love. AWAKEN is incredible, and I also love TURN OF THE CENTURY. PARALLELS is terrific as well. I can't have a permanant favorite song. GOING FOR THE ONE is one of those "perfect" albums.

its impossible to choose a favorite if you discard awaken out of your options. The rockingness of GFT1. the beauty of TOTC, the ummm, church organyness of parelles, and the wonderfull imagery i get from Wonderous story all all kind of tied in my book.

but you can't beat awaken. if i had a big vocabulary i would describe it using some really big words, but using the limited vocabulary i have now, the only way to describe it is f*cking awsome!

It just depends on which day it is.

This reminds me of something. A while back Q. did a thread about how he thought Talk was like a 90's version of GFTO, they were so similar, and I agreed. I thought about that yesterday for some reason. I think Trevor came up with Endless Dream after playing Awaken 80 times on the Union tour. Even the titles have a certain 'word association', so to speak.

Anyway, GFTO is among the greatest of Yes albums.

Awaken is still my favorite Yes song, although now The Remembering comes in as a close second. After this, it gets harder to pick favorite songs. Favorite albums - much easier.

Awaken is the obvious answer, but Parallels is a cracking track and they play it so tight live....shame it wasn't on this years setlist.

Not the greatest advocate of Wonderous Stories but I can hardly call it a "weak" track. Perhaps why GFTO is second on my fave albums list behind CTTE which IMHO is the perfect Yes album.

Oh sod it....i'll go listen to them all again !!!
