Well, here I am starting up a thread for the West Palm Beach show on 8/11/2002 as I am listening to an excellent bootleg of Sound Chaser from the Vancouver show of the Relayer Tour. I guess my request in part with this thread is, if there are any Yesfans from Florida or the southeast, please feel more than welcome to leave a message on this thread. And anyone's more than welcome to leave their stories of their Florida Yes or Yesrelated experience. I'll be doing that of mine in the near future. But other than that, drop a line! And if any of you are coming to the Mars Music Ampitheatre, I'll see you there 8/11/2002!

Hi Yesboy81, I am thinking of making the trip to the Mars. I have family and friends in Central Florida. Also, I think that this show is right around the time of the Pleiades (sp?) Meteor showers. :-)

My parents have a place in Naples, so maybe I'll fly down, then drive across the state.

I'm there!!I saw several acts at this venue including the MW tour.I would not miss it for the world and I am taking a friend who I have just recently introduced to Yes.Might as well see the best version of them for the first time.My brother-in-law also is going. Now I'm just waiting for the announcement on when the tickets will go on sale. What would you guys suggest, getting the tickets on line or going to a TicketMaster outlet.Would I get better seats on line? The last time I stood in line and got the tickets for the MW show and they were alright.I was @ 15 rows up on Squire's side of the stage.

Well, since they're not doing a show in either Tampa, or Orlando, I guess I'll also be making the trip down to the Mars show.

Missed the Magnification show -- don't want to miss this one, as it may be one of the last times we'll get to see the classic line-up (or not -- who knows?)

Still waiting for Yes to play Tampa. But, again I'm just happy for the Mars Music Show and I'll be flying to california for the August 23 show at the Universal Ampitheatre.

Oh, well, Mars will be. I was hoping they would play in another planet, I mean, venue. I'm not too crazy about outdoor theatres for a rock concert. The last time YES play at Mars they were touring with Kansas and they sounded much louder than YES. Kansas had the right idea, then. If you are playing in an outdoor venue play it loud so it makes up for the big holes on either side of the venue.
I don't mean to be whining about this but an outdoor theatre is too casual for a show like YES. A trombone quartet might fit better in such a place with the audience having a picnic and all.
I just wonder how Wakeman feels about this? If I remember well, he said in an interview that he didn't like the fact that YES was playing in small venues. I suppose Rick is just going along with this tour but probably make sure they play in bigger and better venues in the future.
So it'll be WPB first and then take a drive all the way to Atlanta! I just have to see YES twice everytime they tour. But this tour will sure be especial with Wakeman on board.
The first time I saw YES was during the Union tour and Wakeman was there but so were seven other guys. This time it'll be just like I always dreamed but with no distractions.
Can't wait to see what new music they'll come up with after this tour!

I just like to let you know of a certain added feature to the venue/ Yesstage for this show. For this particular show, there will be a sign langauge interpreter on stage for this show.
The reason why is that I am hard of hearing. I have a mild to severe hearing loss (of most of my life) and wear hearing aids. However, while I can hear, I can't hear some particular tones and vocals, plus I read lips. So for last the yesshows I went to I had difficult figuring out what Jon was saying because it was difficult to read his lips due to inferior seating. At the time I wasn't aware of seatings for deaf and hard of hearings. So, my interpreter friend told me about this and I had her call up the Ampitheatre and I will be recieving service. Hopefully this will enhance the Yesshow experience with an interpreter signing everything that Jon says and sings. Yesmusic/lyrics are truly indeed apart of some sort of Universal langauge.

That is just the coolest yesboy81! Hope you can get great seats!

I'll be looking for your interpreter Yesboy81.I received my confirmation for my tickets this morning thanks to my lovely wife who was kind enough to order them for me due to a commitment I had that prevented me from being near a computor at 10:00 this morning. These tickets were selling fast and I was able to get some decent seats in the center but behind the sound board. The last time I purchased tickets at this venue to see them was the MW tour and I stood in line at a Ticketmaster outlet and nabbed better seats at a cheaper price.Word has definetly gotten out about Mr.Wakeman joining this tour.I expect nothing to be available after this weekend but the lawn seats.I think they could of played a larger venue without any problems.Broward Center for Performing Arts would of been perfect.

I'll be there. I saw them there on the 30th anniversery tour, and they just killed! Wish they'd play Tampa, but this'll have to do! Tickets did seem to be going quickly.

It looks like the one show I'm going to make is Chicago, rather than Fla.

I will definately be attending the WPB show. I was there for the Masterworks tour as well. I'll be driving down from Tampa. Any suggestions on a reasonably priced hotel close to the theater? Also, what about a pre-show gathering: tail-gate party, local pub, etc.? Looking forward to another great Yes show - and especially looking forward to seeing Wakeman again. Haven't seen him since the mid 70's.
