Very cool site! I'm a rather new Yes fan, having just gotten into them (and prog in general - really enjoy ELP as well) recently. As far as albums go, I've got a best of and "Close to the Edge," which is without a doubt one of my favorite albums ever- pure genius. I'll tell you one thing - there's so much musci out there from my generation (I;m 16) that's just total garbage [ie, hip hop/rap, lame attempts at rock, etc.] that when I listen to something like Yes, it's like these guys are light years ahead. Anyways, cool forum, awesome music.

Hi Snakebite and welcome to Yesfans! It's nice to meet the younger fans of Yes. There's plenty of them here that are around your age, so have fun and enjoy the site.

Oh and I'm also a big fan of ELP. Glad to have you here.

Cindy

Welcome to the board, Snakebite. I just recently joined myself and am just beginning to dig around and read what's been talked about here the last few years - and having a lot of fun doing it.

I'm totally with you on Close To The Edge. At this point, I think it's tied for first place for my favorite album of all time, with Tales From Topographic Oceans, another Yes album. Close To The Edge is just so perfect, it rocks wildly, it's mellow, it still makes me think...and laugh, it's so good. There's so much musicianship going on, it's incredible. But you know all that, you just got me thinking about how much I love those three songs!

Yes has put out a lot of varied, different sounding stuff over the years. Check out the board, check out the Amazon reviews, you'll find more Yessongs to like. And I know people post about other great bands here, I just haven't checked it out yet (I gotta post about Gentle Giant sometime soon!).

Anyway, glad you made it!

Mike

Welcome to the site, Snakebite. Curious about your name-Are you into snakes? I attempted to kill a snake in my wife's flower garden last week. I ended up puncturing him with a shovel and then tossed him into the woods behind our house. Hopefully, he doesn't slither back into the yard.

Yeah, snakes are a bit of an affinity with me. In watching them, they can be the most relaxed creatures, but when they need to move, they do it swiftly. Always thought that was kind of cool.

Greetings Snakebite!

Your name gives me a chuckle. It's great to see the younger generation appreciating this fantastic band. I discovered Yes when I was 13 - ancient history. CTTE is my favorite Yes album - a true masterpiece. Enjoy your journey discovering more of their music. You'll also enjoy YesFans. We have a great bunch here.
