M-Pact, a 2004 TVIFF featured music artist, was invited by 2004 Career Achievement Award Honoree Trevor Rabin to submit their music portfolio for possible film soundtrack consideration.

What can you tell me about the Awards Gala Night?

This is the festival’s crown jewel event — a star-studded black tie affair where Lifetime and Outstanding Career Achievement awards are presented to film and music artists who have had significant success, body of work and over-all positive contributions to both film and music. This year’s event will be produced by our 2002 TVIFF Award of Excellence Honoree, Monty Seward. Monty promises a Hollywood-style show with musical numbers, production numbers and exciting visual presentations. “The show will encompass the true essence of TVIFF,” said Seward.

This is a hot ticket, must-attend gala event. Seating is limited. Open to the public, this glamour event has given the attending public a chance to hobnob with the likes of past honorees and celebrity guests such as Ray Charles, Martin Sheen, Natasha Hentsridge, Billy Preston, Etta James, William Shatner, Rita Coolidge, Louis Gossett Jr., Isaac Hayes, Lou Rawls, Sean Astin, Adrian Paul, director Jonathan Lynn, film composer Trevor Rabin, Karl Malden, Carl Reiner, Michael York and many more.

Awwww that's too bad. Of course this just means Trevor should be releasing a solo album, and be on stage playing for me. When I met him he said he liked me. So.........why isn't he doing what I want him too.http://www.millan.net/minimations/smileys/biggrin.gif

Rabin hired to compose 'Flyboys' score:

Flyboys, an upcoming action adventure starring James Franco and Jean Reno, will get an original score by Trevor Rabin. The composer, who recently won wide acclaim for his large orchestral score for John Dahl's The Great Raid, also has Disney's basketball drama Glory Road coming out in January 2006.

Tony Bill (Untamed Heart, My Bodyguard, Crazy People) is the director of Flyboys, and Dean Devlin (Independence Day, Stargate, Godzilla) produces. The film is based on a theatrical play by Blake Evans and tells the story about the Lafayette Escadrille which consisted of American pilots who volunteered for the French military during World War I.

He needs a personal letter and maybe some of your Christmas cookies methinks. Rock stars think with their bellies sometimes...

I love Trevor's work, even the cheesy early-to-mid-1980s stuff, but I really, really wish he'd get tagged for a movie that has a chance of being commercially successful. Is it wrong of me to want great things for him? Is it? And WHY isn't he coming to my house for Hanukkah next week?!? Sigh...

Good luck to him. I hope this one's successful.

I'd love to hear the soundtrack from the movieDeath Of A Snowman that Trevor did back in South Africa when he was 19. He said it was awful. LOL!!

The movie must either be incredibly long, spanning a whole day, or really really short! Depends on when it was filmed, late winter or early winter, and where it was filmed. If it was a snowman in the Sahara, I'd say that movie was about 15 minutes long. If it's a Snowman somewhere in the North Pole, that'sa long movie. A LONG movie.

Unless he's blown up. That's a very short movie.

Or done in by hair dryer. A little bit longer a process, but quite dramatic when filmed in the right light.
