GFTO No 1 UK LP on this date 1977!

Just a reminder of a glorious 2 weeks in the summer here in the UK when GFTO was top of the album charts. This at the zenith of punk rock/new wave!

Just around the corner was Wondrous Stories getting into the Top 10 of the singles chart. Amazing times!

And I helped put it there! Well I did buy the LP on the day it was released. I also have a 12" single of Wondrous Stories (blue vinyl - worth anything??).

Going for the One is the tour that roped me into YES. Unfortunately, when I went to purchase it, I had to settle for Fragile. I'm still in love with Fragile, but listening to Going for the One now sends me into twilight for the memories it stirs in my minds eye. Going for the One was a great concert. I am not envious when I hear of others talk about the Relayer tour cause I've had one just as beautiful. I am happy to believe I know what the people who experienced Relayer are talking about.

i remember the daily telegraph(major sydney paper)featuring wakey's return in the world news section-not just entertainment-gfto truly marked a time when our boys were gods that walked on the earth-all major music papers had them on the covers too!
