Well we have done the albums, now the DVD/videos. Lets see what we think about the quality of all these Yes visual offerings. Just give it your rating out of ten and eventually we'll be able to give our Yesfans combined opinion.

I really liked it while I had it. My wife and I flew to Vegas to see the House Of Blues show, even got a Jon autograph on my Ladder CD afterwards, when I crossed paths with he and his wife at the hotel elevators. So this DVD had special meaning for us. But alas, I went to play it again several weeks ago, and it was gone, unplayable like others we've read about in this forum. Each of the five or six times I watched it, I was thankful I had somehow ended up with a good copy. Now I'll have to get another, maybe make my own copy before the new one disappears too!

8. I just watched it again last night. For some reason, Igor sounded really good - much better than I remembered. He nails all the parts, gets the sounds right, and adds just enough of his own style. All of the Ladder tunes are great. Having "Cinema" is awesome.
I think its good, but for some reason I just cant get into it to the point of wanting to play it all the time. I dont know why. The only plausable reason I can think of is because when I first played it, my wife pointed out that Jon was wearing white socks and sandals. SHe laughed for weeks over that. I had to agree that it was a bad look

I didn't see this as an essential live album at all- it is possibly the last time you'll hear this much from 'The Ladder', Igor Khoroshev is excellent and it's all slickly delivered. However, for all that, something is definitely lacking here. The set list offers few challenges in truth, and I'm not sure two guitarists was a necessity when they already had Steve Howe, who is the best in prog alongside Steve Hackett for me. Also, the minute long 'Ritual' is beyond pointless. The main highlight here is 'Perpetual Change' as it must have been ages since that was aired. Perhaps the least essential of the band's live albums, imho...6/10.

Some things work well for others, but , …sorry I was disappointed with this one. Not a get up and party video, Anderson looked very tired and it’s difficult to watch them in such a small venue and stage.
LOL
Nothing negative here.
But it was OK. I’m not trying to kick it, or give the video away, it is a keeper.

Not my favorite, but of course it's "Yes" so I own it and watch every once in a while. At least I can watch "Yes" somehow. Jon probably didn't make the right choice in footwear that evening. If you watch the dvd, Jon almost ends up on his arse slipping on some of the confettii.

A great DVD I love it. A good mix of old and new recorded at a time when the band seemed to be looking forward with new music with the inclusion of Billy and Igor.

Just watched this...
I'll give 7/10. It's wonderful music, and the making of-part is really nice, but somehow... Something's missing... (And I don't mean Wakeman, Igor's shining on keys there).
Maybe it's because there are Yes dvds that are so much better that this just seems awfully average next to them ;)
By the way, does anyone know how I could make the "Virtual Tourbook" work on the PC? It says in the menu: press -> in your remote control... Obviously, my laptop doesn't have one...

I didn't want to be presumptuous at first as to whether the higher numbers were better, or worse, so I read through everyone else's comments first. So okay, my assumption 10 was best is correct. I am still LMAO about Jon's footwear, I didn't really look that closely. However, musically I think the group is right up there with the best (yes, I give high marks to Igor). I give it an 8/10.

Held off buying this one due to many reports on first edition not playing correctly. I found it recently for $5.00 so I figure how could I lose. So far 3 songs into it things seem fine other than Steve is mixed so low in YIND and Perpetual Change it's hard to hear him. Jon, Chris and Igor seem to be out in front.
Hopefully the mixing will get better as the DVD goes along.

Something about the 5.1 mix really bothers me. When Jon's not singing or playing anything there is a lot of hiss coming out of my front center speaker.

A 9.....VERY underrated and overlooked in the vast Yes catalogue. The band is playing great, the production is perfect, and the set is great as well (I only wish they'd included "Hearts" on the DVD and CD).
"Perpetual Change", "Homeworld", and "Awaken" are all spectacular.

I agree with Jackaranda, this live concert has been surely underrated, but maybe it was because of Wakeman's absence.. In my opinion this is one of the best gig they made, the sound quality is good all in all notwithstanding some too "pasted" sound when all the band plays at high-volume because of a considerable predominance of low frequencies..
Another reason is due probably to the choice of the repertoire, focusing it a mixture of new and classic with the consequence to have some new songs from "The Ladder" to be hardly compared to great classics like "Awaken" and "Yours is no disgrace"..
As for these last two songs I mentioned, I found these versions of big interest, and this due to the fabulous work Igor Khoroshev and Billy Sherwood made with their contribution.
I dare rate it 8/10, bye!

This has become my favorite Yes DVD for sheer enjoyment (although I still regard Montreux as "the best" overall). The music from The Ladder is just so joyful and the band really gets into the spirit of those songs. They are less inspired on the earlier stuff except Perpetual Change which features brilliant playing by Howe. I get more pleasure out of a few performances on this DVD (Homeworld, Lightning Strikes, Face to Face) than on any others I've seen.

It's ok... I like hearing some of the Ladder songs, but there is something about the sound... I like Lugano 2004 (found it on youtube), and Symphonic much better...

I really love this DVD. One of my favorites. I love the Ladder period for some reason. To me this was as close as they came to reviving the old days vibe.

I gave it a 9. My only small complaint is there are too many of my not so favorite songs from "The Ladder" on it.

9.5. 10 if it weren't for Chris' haircut. :-)
It is what it is, you know. Might have come out a stronger statement of Billy's contributions for example, but very nice to see The Ladder songs performed and to see Igor in action on an official release. (I still like Igor very much for being a sport with the Tales and Relayer material especially).

I wish they filmed the whole footage. Close to the edge and Hearts were cut from the show apparently. Other than that, it's great footage. The encore rocks with cinema, owner and roundabout

I think it's fantastic. Period. One of their best recorded live performances. And, IMHO, it has the best recorded live performance of "Awaken" as well, which never ceases to give me goosebumps every time I see/hear it. Any Yes fan who doesn't have this yet needs to jump on this DVD.
I rate it a 9 overall!
I have bought 2 DVD copies and both stopped working after about 7 plays or over about a 2 yr period.
Is it the number of plays or time or both that make it not playable??? How does this happen?
I now just play the original VHS tape and it is an awesome Yesshow!

Billy is way back in the mix but is helpful adding depth both with his playing and singing. He does step into the spotlight during owner and especially cinema. I would strongly recommend this DVD.
