Well we have done the albums, now the DVD/videos. Lets see what we think about the quality of all these Yes visual offerings. Just give it your rating out of ten and eventually we'll be able to give our Yesfans combined opinion.

8. It would have been higher, but the editing/cutting could have been better and Roger Daltrey???

2. Sometimes I can't hear what Roger is saying; the backgroundmusic is to loud and he's mumbling to much. Much of the thing's we've already heard on Yesyears..and the live"video". Well, the sound is so bad I can't even listen to it without the television turned on.

Far to many visual effects, black and white, slow framing, why? these kind of effects i can do with my 8 year old camcorder!
i give it a 4.

Not Tsongas, Joe - this is about that Yesspeak documentary flick they made to apparently implant a sour aftertaste in the mouths of those who used to enjoy YesYears.

haha!
You know, I don't actually have Yesspeak; just saw the short version in the theater. But I remember it being mostly a second-rate YesYears.
Loved that acoustic set from LA though.

I give it a 7 for the same reasons noted above.

I gave it a 0. It was boring after about 15 minutes. Such a shame Yes didn't release the show the audio came from. The still pics durring the video didn't make sense, of course things that Yes does at times doesn't make any sense.

I gave it a 1. I bought this and sold it back to the store the next day. Terrible, terrible. What a waste! The editing and video and sound production on this are absolutely abysmal. I'm a video editor for a production company so I know about this stuff. It looks like it was done by a team of high school students. That pretty much ruined it for me. Oh yeah, and Roger Daltrey's narration? Horrible! But you have to blame the person who wrote the copy as much as Roger. It's a terrible script. This video does not add to the Yes legacy one bit. In fact it makes them look amateurish, and that's what really bothers me about it.
I pray to God the Tsongas DVD was not done by the same guy who did this (he also did the "Acoustic" DVD). Can anyone confirm or deny this?

There are some good and bad bits in this DVD. The worst is Roger Daltrey's terrible narration it's clear he knows nothing about the band, he reads from a script sheet in monotone voice. It is clear he is there just to collect his pay cheque.
The individual interviews are a bit long winded. The clips from the concerts on the tour are great but pity they don't go on for longer.
One of the best parts for me was footage from Glastonbury which the BBC thought that Yes contribution to the festival was so insignificant as to not be worthy to televise, so I was happy to see some footage.
I was also happy to see Steve doing a sound check in Liverpool, i was actually outside when he was doing it and it was great getting footage inside.
The tour bus clips were great as well as backstage clips with Rick's cup of tea and biscuits on the table with a doiley table cloth and some flowers..LOL.
They're were some good bits...but PLEASE can someone overdub Roger Daltrey?

I wish they would have shown more concert footage. The interviews were good.

This was a huge letdown for me.
I can only give it a 6.
And it didn't tell me much about the band I didn't know from YesYears. Talk about Yes's shameless repackaging ;).
And Daltrey was SO annoying with his "talk to you like you are thick schoolchildren" delivery.

This is a DVD of quite good extras for a great concert DVD that doesn't exist. The video-quality, sound-quality and performance on the concert footage are so good (better than Tsongas, and they include "Awaken") it is a crime it has not been made into a full concert DVD. What can we do to make them release it? Should I write to my local MP? Could we march on the offices?

I am with you. Storm the tower and drive out the suits. It was a criminal decision not to include it. The video footage looks SUPERB!

I don´t have any problems with Roger Daltrey whatsoever (although I wish the background sounds would be a lot lower at times - you can´t hear what the man says!). The whole editing on the other hand is really crap! It looks like a home video most of the time and as if it was filmed with a really cheap camera. Especially the interviews with Rick are very unflattering with the high levels of magenta. Looks like he´s about to die! No, give us something proper - they´re worth it!

It was second rate production.
Strange though, Classic Pics have done some excellent work with other projects.
- Rick's 'Out There' - 'Yes Acoustic' - 'The Iranian Embassy Siege' for example.
I just want to know how the faulty audio mix levels ever got past quality control.

...one of my favourite Yes movies...I know there's less music on it, but I love all the tour stories and funny jokes, it's very personal and after watching it, you know every Yes member a little bit more.
"look Alan, we are here...in Birmingham!" -hilarious! :lmao:

8/10... loses a bit for technical quality, for going audio-only on that concert...
