This has been done before but not in a way to keep track of the scores - hopefully this will overcome that by allowing you to choose one score per album.
You can base your evaluation on any version of the album.

A pefect 10 again. This album is in my top 5. A very special album, as you can tell I like it alot, (look at signature). I really thought YES was heading in the right direction here. Some longer pieces, some shorter ones. A Very Very good album. Homeworld should still be a part of their lineup. That is a classic.

In The Ladder I got the impression that Jon has a lot of faith in what he's singing about whether the subject is personal, political, or spiritual. His voice sounds as good in the studio as ever, but the backing vocals are my favourite of any Yes album to date - in songs like "Homeworld" they give him a disembodied quality, while in more terrestrial songs about simpler pleasures/subjects such as "It Will Be A Good Day" and "If Only You Knew" they add emphasis which is very fitting.
The fusion of styles ranging as far as AOR and reggae music makes for a fascinating variety of songs, all very well-written and cleverly arranged. Enlightening and powerful stuff all round - a tasteful renewal of their progressive roots with a refreshing and less abstract style of song-writing. A masterpiece and one of my favourite Yes albums, seriously up there with Close To The Edge and Relayer. Nine out of ten.

I can't believe Cindy hasn't heard it....Surely you gest???
My equal favourite. My comments would be the same as elequently stated by all above.
I like Igor's contribution very much in this album. He seemed to know when to be prominent with his keys and when to hand the lead back to the other musicians.
I have, in other places, read much negative comment about The Ladder. - I just can't understand why. The album makes me miss Igor a little, though it is still wonderful to have Rick back.

Gave it an 8. Has some great tunes on it. Reminds me a little of ABWH. But this is better I think.

I gave it a 9 rating. It may be a little high but I really like the album. I think that YES was really beginning to find their footing again with this album. Homeworld is a classic as wells as Nine Voices (I just wish it was longer), Face to Face is really an awesome melody with some really cool Steve parts not to mention that groove of Chris' bass. New Language has everything that we have come to expect from YES in a mini-classic. I admit I go through phases of listening to this album but when I dust it off and plug it in I do really enjoy the experience.

Homeworld, Lightning strikes, Face to face, Finally, The Messenger, and New Language all make my list of favorite Yes songs (which of course is huge). New Language is my favorite one on there though. I havn't heard Squire with such a dominant bass line since Sweet Dreams. I have that riff going in my head all the time and it never gets old!

9.
I don't think Igor was really a good fit and there is some stuff that, although cool, doesn't really seem to go anywhere. Overall very good though.

5. Not my favorite Yes album, for sure, but it does have some great moments (Homeworld, It Will Be A Good Day).
If you could combine the best tracks from The Ladder and OYE you'd have a pretty good album. I like OYE better.
