This has been done before but not in a way to keep track of the scores - hopefully this will overcome that by allowing you to choose one score per album.
You can base your evaluation on any version of the album
It's OK. Not my best live album. 7

A 7. Good points - Live versions of GOD and Ritual - Bad Points - Not long enough. This should have been a triple album and a complete concert from the 78-79 shows. Nice artwork though.

Not a bad effort, though I'd reach for Yessongs 9 times out of ten before Yesshows.

I'll give it a 7. Not a favorite.
I don't like Going For The One or Don't Kill The Whale or Parallels.

Better than many of my 'boots' in sound quality.
Only a personal preference, but for a live recording, I'd rather the magic of one show, than a collection of songs from different arena's spliced together.

I give it a 7. Live GofD and Ritual are terrific, the rest is OK.

I gave it a 7.
Sounds okay. Sound like they cut "Time and Word" into Going for the One" . Maybe that was how they did it, but it does not sound like it was how they did it. Sounds like a huge edit. And I do not like how they split "Ritual" over 2 sides on the LP. But I guess there was no choice. What they should have done is given it a whole side.
I read in "Yesstories" that everyone did not approve of this album and Chris did it on his own after Yes broke up.

You are correct about Time and a Word - it actually was the first part of the medley and segued into Long Distance Runaround.

Before we had bootlegs, we had Yesshows.

I love it, my favorite version of Gates is there. I couldn't give it a 10. I gave it a 9, since no one else has, but Earl said he did.

This album definitely has the best live version of Ritual I have ever heard. Gates, too. I wish the recording could have been better, though. I'll give it an 8.

This album was a disappointment to me after Yessongs. I wasn't surprised to later find out that the released version was not sanctioned by the band.

I gave it an 8.
Though it's not really an Album Proper. It is not a representative live set.
It's more like Yessongs 2 - or Yessongs The Update.
That Quebec 79 concert blows this official release out of the water.

I like what hots said, but I'd still give it a 9. Yessongs is a 10+. Those versions of Gates and Ritual are priceless, especially with Moraz on them.

this particular rendition of "gates" is the hottest rendition I have ever heard.IMHO
I remember when I bought it... Las Vegas... it was the morning I first dated a girl that was my steady for 20 years... I made the mistake of asking her hand...
haven't seen nor heard from her since
Gave it a 9. The version of Gates alone justifies that.

I rated it 8 too. Parallels, Ritual and Gates are excellent the rest probably great if you were there but the recording loses something

Gave it a 9.
This one would benefit from a remix. The music, however, is stellar.
