This has been done before but not in a way to keep track of the scores - hopefully this will overcome that by allowing you to choose one score per album.
You can base your evaluation on any version of the album including the Rhino remaster
Love it! Keep going........

Although I wasn't too impressed with this album when it came out, in the last few years I've learned to appreciate it much more. It's still not a favourite by any means, but there's some great tracks - OTSWOF, Onward, Future Times/Rejoice, Madrigal.

It takes a bad rap - But I stand by it - Here was a band basically just barely holding together at this point (material wise) and they were able to put out some great tracks like Future Times (Wish they'd dig this one out of the closet and play it), Release, Release, Onward, OTSWOF. They are some quirky, folky moments on it like Arriving UFO and Circus of Heaven, but so what. It was made by the master lineup.

I give it an 8.
Marred by poor production, bad keys and "Circus of Heaven." (What were they thinking???).
"On the Silent Wings of Freedom" makes up for it though, as well as the strength of DKTW and "Arriving UFO" played live.
I also get a huge chuckle out of "Release, Release." Yes' straight-ahead rocker tune.

Love it!
But must admit that it is an album that has come to greater prominence with me after listening to recordings of the Tormato tour; namely Chicago June 6 '79 and Quebec April 18 '79.
These are great shows for what it is worth, and display the band playing live on stage with awesome technical skill and mastery.

Could have been much better. Weak production and the mix is not so good. Alan's drums sound muddy and Jon's voice sounds somewhat dampened.
I'll have to get it on CD and see if it sounds better.
I gave it a 5.

No excuse for such poor production.
The album where the boy's "jumped the shark". Unfortunately.

Better than I originally thought it was, but a drop down after Going For The One. They recovered with Drama. A 7.

I'd give it a 7.5 There's some good music but a few songs that aren't up to the usual standard, bad production, Rick's briotron and the only time I've never liked Chris' bass tone is on this album. The Rhino remaster has a great mix and made me appreciate this album than I did before and I find I play the bonus tracks alot more than the actual album.

I love the bonus tracks from this and Drama. All those Paris sessions.
And 'Money' - what a great track. Though I wish I could hear Rick's monologue better.
They still haven't released Everybody Loves You from those sessions.
And the Paris tracks on the In a Word box were heavily edited. Especially Tango.

Silent Wings isn't as good as everybody here says it is, I agree with that. And Circus of Heaven is... the lamest song I've ever heard from a great band. :git[1]:

I gave it an 8... it's grown on me in the past few decades and has become a classic... when I bought it in 1982 I would have given it a 5 or 6 because it was so different from Fragile...

"Circus of Heaven." (What were they thinking???):lmao:
it's the only track I've ever edited out of a Yes album on my ipod
8.
I have always loved this album. I can live without Circus Of Heaven, but it was the one loser since Steve joined. Not many bands have that kind of track record.

Yeah and it's pretty short. LIke two minutes of inarguably bad music out of hours worth is pretty good.

I gave it a 4, because I like DKTW and Onward. OTSWF would be OK if you could edit out the keyboards.

If there is such a thing as a solid 7..then that's what I'll give it :lmao:
A lot of it holds up, 'cept of course Circus of Heaven and the production value. It amazes me too because live Tormato was magnificent and energetic!
