This has been done before but not in a way to keep track of the scores - hopefully this will overcome that by allowing you to choose one score per album.
You can base your evaluation on any version of the album including the Rhino remaster
AWAKEN!
I love that song.

I give it a 9.
I'm one of the few Yesfans that is less than blown away by "Turn of the Century," and "Wondrous Stories" isn't my favorite either.
"Awaken" is stellar. The third in the "triple crown," along with "Gates" and CTTE.

A 10 trails only CTTE in my opinion.

I have to give this one a 10. This album got me into YES.
Heard TOTC late one night on Melbourne radio. From that moment, I was hooked!
And Awaken....It just doesn't get any better!
If you don't like this album; well..., - You just don't like music! :-)

As far as the whole album goes, I'd rate it #5, behind Relayer, CTTE, Tales and TYA.
Awaken, however, is in a class by itself.

I gave it a 7. I never liked Turn of the Century and Parallels is not a favorite. Awaken and Wonderous Stories I love. GFTO itself is OK, better live.

11 for the title track alone!! I gave the album a 9 (which I regret on second thought - this album is a tenner!!). I only gave it 9 because of Parallels, which to me is a bit of a filler - although a good filler. And - hey! - every great album should have one.

This one shows YES at their creative best.
I gave it a 9, only because "CTTE" & "Relayer" are flawless IMHO.

I know I'm in the minority here but I gave this a 5. It's not an album I'm crazy about. I love Awaken and Wondrous Stories but the rest I can live without. Anything after Relayer was a decline to me. I know many fans just love this album but I don't.

I'm with Timmo on this one. I always wondered if I was missing something. I'd rather listen to Parallels tham TOTC. But Awaken...there isn't much left to say beyond 'frickin' awesome'. 9 for me, too.
Seven, purely for the title track (that slide guitar rocks) and the intro to Turn of the Century

This is the most balanced yes recoding of their career. It’s a real joy to listen.
GFTO, (the song) is rocking,
Turn of the century is like no other song I’ve heard. Largely written by a drummer, but hardly featuring any drums! (Are you listening, <?xml:namespace prefix = st2 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /><st2:PersonName><?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas:contacts" /><st1:title>MR</st1:title> <st1:Sn>Collins</st1:Sn></st2:PersonName>?)
<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p> </o:p>
I’ve played parallels with my band and believe me it’s just as exhilarating to play as it is to listen to.
<o:p> </o:p>
– Wondrous stories, delicate and lush and otherworldly
<o:p> </o:p>
,,,,and then, there is Awaken. I hardly have the words. The Piano intro, the 12string solo, the organ break down, THAT pregnant pause!! And a perfect epilogue.
<o:p> </o:p>
Glorious
<o:p> </o:p>
As a huge fan of Metallica and other metal (Fear Factory Korn and so forth)and other alternative music, no one has done what these guys can do for me like when I fist heard this album in 1978 (I was 11 – birthday prezzie, and what a present!!!!)
<o:p> </o:p>
If you don’t like this album, hit yourself with a very large brick to check you’re still alive!!

Love this album. My second fave in the catalog. Every song is REALLY good. I got pretty peaved the other day when I was reading something, (don't remember what it was), that said Wondrous Stories was a "throw-away". There are NO "throw-aways" on this album.

I gave it a 9 - it's personally my favourite Yes album and I love the inner sleeve photo montage. However, objectively I think the only album that deserves 10/10 is Close To The Edge - it's widely acclaimed as the definitive Yes album and is nearly always recommended in rock music guides as the one to buy for a classics collection.

Oh, this is a sweet one... A well-deserved 9 for sure -I can never make up my mind about which is my second favourite album, TYA or GFTO (after the undisputed # 1 spot going to CTTE.) I bought GFTO in May 2004 and it was instantly very easy to like. Admittedly I wasn't too thrilled about Wonderous Stories at first but it certainly grew on me with every listening and I can't imagine the record without it any longer.
Awaken, of course, works like a mantra...pure bliss. Though I am one of those who prefer the first part of the song to the more introspective/meditative latter part. Still, a true classic if there ever was one.
I'm so glad they managed to churn this gem out at the height of punk! And to # 1 it went, too...

Gave it an 8. While it is not my favorite Yes album, it is in my top 10 list. I do enjoy Awaken & Wonderous Stories, & I didn't really like Paralells at first, but it has grown on me over time... Overall, a pretty good album.

I hated to give it a 7 cause Awaken is like the best Yes song ever in my oppinion. But, the naked dude and Wondrous Stories we could have done without. Who's butt is that anyways? lol...... And what's up with GFTO? I haven't ever really been able to make much sense out of the lyrics. I know what the lyrics are but, what do they mean? What's the story about? Is there a story? Or is it all the musings of a Englishman slightly off his rocker (Jon, god bless his soul). ;)

Definitely a 10~ Yes Renaissance.
Turn of the Century & Awaken are pure works of art.
The working version of TOTC from the Rhino release is very interesting..

I love GFTO, but i find the main title track and awaken too overplayed now and has become tiresome. Parallels is ok but my favourite is definately turn of the century and wonderous stories, but i must say when i first got into awaken it was truely awesome

Wow, that's a beautiful song..you wonder how some peoples' taste can differ so much. Anyway, I personally really liked this album, would give it a 9, and consider "Awaken" my favorite. I got to see them do this tour in the round at the no longer existent Capital Center in Maryland. It was a treat since I had seen them with Patrick Moraz twice and had seen Wakeman solo, but now got to see them together. When they played "Awaken" I had to remind myself to start breathing again at the end!

Another near perfect album. Awaken and Going for the One are both exceptional songs. Although I like Wonderous Stories, for me it is the filler on this album- not quite up there with the others, almost boring in comparison. That is why I only gave it a 9.

I do like this album a lot. I do not like the song Going For The One. It's my least favorite song on the album. I especially love Turn Of The Century. It is indeed a beautiful song and the highlight of the album for me. I also like Wonderous Stories and Parallels. I'm not as impressed with Awaken as everyone here seems to be. It's a good song, and has some pretty parts in it, but it doesn't take my breath away.
I gave the album an 8. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/1003/Cinderella528/Musical_CD.gif

Listening to this as I write this
Love this album
New direction musically and also a bit lyrically
( change we must as surely time does)
Not too much all at once a very nice progression
( changes call the course)
Not a bad track on this album and even a big long one for us old hippies
( asking for the source )
Times had changed and so had YES
has to be 10
Wonderous Stories a filler ? Yeah right ! Ask all the dafties like me who bought a single and watched Top of the Pops for the first time in years
just to see them and hear it/

I give GFTO a 10, simply on the merit of the not-so-simple AWAKEN.
Only YES could have Come-up with Awaken.
It's bombastic, it's pop culture GONE WRONG, posing as classical music, it's the antithesis of punk, why it's it's it's...
...the most amazing song ever.
Nothing like it under God's blue sky.
A 10 I tell you!
