July 30 must be regarded as one of the more momentous days in Yes history. It could also be called Dallas day.

My stand out day occurred in 1972 - the opening concert of the Close to the Edge tour at Dallas Texas with Alan White's first Yes concert and the first public performances of And You And I & Siberian Khatru. In addition, they were supported by The Eagles.

1977 was not far behind with the opening concert of the Going for the One tour at Toledo Ohio with Rick's first concert in his second coming. And of couse the first public performances of Awaken, Turn of the Century and Parallels. They were supported by Donovan.

So arguably the two most popular Yessongs - Awaken & And You And I had their first public airing on the same day.

2002 saw 'In a Word: Yes (1969-)' released in the USA/Canada and the Magnification DVDA released in the US.

Other concerts were played in 1969 (at the Marquee Club), 1976, 1989 (ABWH), 1991, 1994 (Dallas again), 1998 (Dallas for the third time), 2000 and 2001.

I was in the womb in 1972 and 4 years old in 1977.
I was listening to Yes in 1977.

Yep. Alan's onstage debut with Yes was 33 years ago today. His first tune was Siberian Khatru.

Congratulations, Alan!
