While July 16 was rather mundane (and not worth a thread), July 17 stands out with interesting events.
Probably the most important occurred in 1970. This was Steve Howe's first concert with Yes at the Lyceum in London. Clap was recorded from this concert for The Yes Album. It is also the first reported live performances of Yours is no disgrace, I've seen all good people, and America. What is particularly interesting about this is that Time & a Word had yet to be released - so I'm not sure whether the set list is accurate. Black Sabbath & Uriah Heep were also on the card.
In 1972, 2 years to the day of its first live performance, the America single was released in the US
In 2003 the Yes SMS Flash was released and the London Hyde Park concert was cancelled due to the promoter going bust.
Yes also played in 1971 (with Humble Pie, Soft Machine), 1976 (with Peter Frampton, Gary Wright, Gentle Giant), 1984, 1994 & 2002.
