View Full Version : Boston, August 2nd?
I just heard a contest promo on WZLX here in Mass. that said Yes was playing the Tweeter Center (Masnsfield, MA) on August 2nd. Let's keep our fingers crossed, as that's a nice venue to hear Yes' sweet sounds!

I'll take the IVES show...It's a bit closer to me. I believe it's right off I-91.
Klevs....what IS? What show are you referring to?
The Tweeter Center show is the "Is..." Mansfield, MA is located midway between Boston and Providence not too far off of I-95. Not many great meeting areas around it, though. The Jimmy Buffett parrotheads just conmgregate in the parking lot early. You can go to www.tweetercenter.com to check out the venue.

Just an update....
Although YesWorld has not put out a date....The Tweeter Center
site has changed the onsale date from June 1st to JUNE 15TH.
I don't know what the deal will be with presales or anything of the sort.
Although there are no great places to meet near the Tweeter, if
you go past the venue (coming from 495N or 95) you will hit a few restuarants and conveinience stores.
There is also a McD's and a strip mall about a mile away, right on rt. 140. Not the optimal meeting place, but it is away enough from the action to be able to find someone easily enough.

Looks like I'm going to the Tweeter show in Massachusetts. Got enough time to get ticket money together, so this is cool. 241 miles from my house, but it'll be an adventure. I have never seen Boston, either. Maybe it's time I did.

Row M? I'm getting sick. Where are all the first thru fifth rows? Mine don't go on sale for a few minutes yet and I hope I get closer than M. Sorry PaulH, but I'm spoiled and Need CLOSE seats.

the servers were so busy and screwed up couldn't do anything until after 10:15, i did manage to get section 1 row y but since i had another window open it screwed me out of them.I HATE TICKETMASTER! I feel Yes didn't really help us out on this one, They could have done it better!! Also what was the point of the password anyway, for effect only?

My seats are in the center section....of the middle row
of sections......
closer would be nice....but I am not complaining.
13 rows up is not so bad....(in the middle mind you)
I got through at about 10:08 am....but it was busy untill then.
I am pre-registered with Ticketmaster....so there wasn't even an option for a password.
Did anybody else have to use one?
Alysoun

Paul:
No, no password was required.
I got through at 10:15 ot so.
Now to find a better seating chart that what is provided at the Tweeter Center.
It is a good question, what did happen to sections 1-3 ....
Here is the seating chart from the Tweeter Center page.

I wonder how much of it was the predesigned plan of selling
alternating rows....or just how they 'split" up the pre-sale seats.
I am sure if one were to check out a ticket broker site, we
may have our answer to where are most of the section 1-3
tickets.
They have hign speed DSLs and people employed to just
sit there and buy tickets so I have a feeling that even though
this seems like it would benefit us fans....the snakes still get in there more quickly and eat up all the best seats.
I am starting to wonder if there is a conspiracy....I mean I know that sometimes the first few rows up front are put aside for radio promotion/contests...and general industry types, but I wonder if the same is done for some of these broker businesses....or there is special access...perhaps a true password system for these folks so that they can live up to their billing and offer the
"best seats" as they often advertise.
If so.....I wonder if they are getting greased by the brokers for the benefit of having access to the best tickets?
Would it be fair? NO....Would I be surprised? Absolutely NO.
Hello all:
In my glorious previous job, I worked for a record company. When the artists came to then-Great Woods, the venue would basicall hold most center-theatre tickets for public sale. I'm not saying that all of Sections 1, 2 and 3 are available, but it wouldn't surprise me if there will be better seats available on June 15th. I tried from 10:00 AM to 10:30, and most of the selections, regardless of the number of seats I asked for, were in Sections 1 and 3 on the ends, and 4,5,7 and 8. I'm guessing that the brokers got gobs of seats, but not the premium ones.

The best I could do were either section 4 row M or section 12 Row B. Even though section 12 is further back (and uncovered) I opted for these instead of sitting far right. I hope I shouldn't have waited as TheKlev pointed out. Anyway I've got tixs!!! WooHoo!!!!! The Tweeter is a pretty decent place. (Lot's better than Mohegan Sun)

This may surprise some of you 'I want to be screaming in the first row' types: I got 2nd Row, section 12 in the top center. I actually like being up a bit so I can see the whole band, wave at Jon and Chris (and they wave back!), have a smoke, relax and take it all in. And at Tweeter, I can run up and scream if I want to as well.
So, see ya all in the parking lot. My drummer friend and I will be drinking beers and cranking Squire bootlegs. Just yell Squireaholic!

Section 12 is covered now; the only part that isn't covered is the lawn. See ya there...

But Bert:
There are only 4 (5 if you caount the highland compilation) of Squire (or rather, CSE, boots)
And they don't sound good enough to crank up!!

Hey Bert:
No one could ever offend my sensitive ears with CSE live shows!! Most of all someone with someone whose handle is "Squireaholic".
Play it as loud as you want to. If I hear "One World Going Round" I'll know to come over and
say howdy. I'm just saying that the quality of those live shows is somewhat poor in general.
My ears have been to too many concerts to be that senstive anymore!!

For curiosity's sake I went online well after the onsale time
for tickets on the public sale date on June 14th.
I was getting tickets that were as good if not better than the ones i got on the presale.
Just for a laugh i entered 8 as number of tickets to look for
and ended up with some in section 3!!!!!!
I unfortunately couldn't buy any of them, but what a dissapointment.....all that presale hype.
It makes me wonder how sales are going?
I hope there aren't going to be many empty seats and a a sparce lawn.
Anybody else try the public onsale at the onsale time and score great or better seats?

I ended up with Section 4 seats on the pre-sale. That's the last time I do that! I have a Ticketmaster outlet withing walking distance from me. Next time I'll get my tickets on the regular sale date the OLD FASHIONED WAY.
Still I'm glad to be there anyway - and I think my Section 4's are closer than I've ever gotten before.

So maybe I didn't do as bad as I thought; I did the presale thing also, and lucked out with 2 for Sec. 3, row W. I hope being stuck on the left side doesn't obscure anything, but if they're like Rush, they'll have this huge screen behind them.
Still got one of those seats up for grabs. I really want to get rid of this ticket--I need to buy another T-shirt! Face value ($50).
Anyone doing a meet thing at the show?

Please everyone pray for my camera - that it makes it past the turnstiles and doesn't get lost, broken, stolen or confiscated!!!
My sister's coming to get me in about 5 hours for our ride to the Tweeter Center. I'm too excited to sleep, but I guess I'd better. Hopefully I'll have some photos to share. Never took concert photos before, so I hope the gods of camera are on my side!

Rob , Have a safe trip. I too am looking forward to long drive. Upstate NY will be represented!! Do you know of any gatherings prior to the show. I've checked other threads and can't seem to find reference to one anywhere before the show. If not -- there is always the parking lot. If you see a guy wearing a sleeveless YES tour shirt with the YES logo tattooed on one arm and the Olias symbol on the other arm, thats me.
Peace,
Eric

I wish I was there! I would really like to see a Yes concert in the USA. I am curious about the differences between Yes concerts in the USA and Europe with respect to venues, the audience etc.
