I've noticed during GFTO tour setlist that Awaken is typically listed as Flight Jam/Awaken.... What exactly does the 'Flight Jam' consist of ??? I have yet to aquire any boots from that tour and have always wondered that.
Can someone shed some light on this for me ???
Thanks,
Eric

In the UK tour shows in 1977 when Awaken was performed there was quite an extended harp piece which included (to my ears) some excerpts of Jon's 'Flight of the Moorglade' from his 'Olias' solo LP - I think some of the band improvised around this before returning to the LP version of Awaken with the section of harp/church organ/guitar etc. that then goes into the 'Master of...' section.
May have been different for the US shows, if any other brethren from across the Atlantic can cast some light?
Best wishes to you eseubert.

In the version I've got, it's an intro to Awaken, immediately followed by the wellknown piano bit by Rick. I've put it on my GFTO cd as a seperate bonus track. There's a lot of audience noise around, but it's still interesting.

I'm sorry, but this IS one of my favorite days to re-live. And it's the day Frodo was stabbed with a Mordor Blade!
And wow...I just can't explain it. But it's one of my favorite days to re-live!

I *believe* I have the day before or after on recording, but...I'm kind of freakin' out right now, with too much on my plate that has to be done. So...I'll get back with you if I have the weed and see if you'd like a copy.
