In this continuing series, June 20 has had some interesting Yes events

1969 - Yes played at Canterbury, Kent for the first time

1975 - Yes played at Tucson Arizona on the Relayer tour

1976 - Yes played at Rochester NY on the Yessolos tour

1979 - Yes played the first of three nights at the Philadelphia Spectrum on the Tormato tour

1989 - The ABWH album asnd the single Brother of Mine was released in Canada

1998 - Yes played at Quebec City to 40,000 fans but their setlist was curtailed to less than 2 hours due to overuns from earlier bands. Alan was noted to get very upset with Chris when his drum solo was interrupted due to the time constraints.

2000 - House of Yes - Live from House of Blues VHS was released in the USA & Canada. This was also the opening night of the Masterworks tour in Reno Nevada and as usual on opening nights it was a 'hit & miss' show with the band deciding against playing South Side of the Sky during the show (it was on the setlist given to the sound man)

2001 - Roger Dean's Yes square chop Dragonfly series was released; Yes, Time and a Word, The Yes Album, GFTO, Tormato, Drama, Yesshows HDCD were released in Japan

2003 - Yes played in Stuttgart Germany

2004 - The Yes Album was rated #51 in the 'Greatest British Albums' by Paul Morley; Yes played in Glasgow, Scotland

ON June 20th, 305 AD, YES played a concert beneath the Great Pyramid in Egypt, to celebrate Ptolemy taking his title as King.

It's been a while, ...I seem to remember a great version of Going For The One.

Hey Brian! How're ya doing man?

Awaken played as lovely egyptian girls danced in the diminishing yet poignant rays of Aman RA. It was a time, as with most things, one had to be there!

Glad you're back Brian! Missed you Doctor!

I am just sitting here thinking back to where I was this time last year.

I had had such an exciting day. Getting all ready, ironing my skirt, putting on my false nails and sparkley eye shadow! I had to look my best! I was going to see my Jon!!

I was going to meet fellow fan, Anne from Australia at the Tiger Tiger bar in Glasgow. I met a few others too. All very nice! :-) Little did I know what a wonderful surprise the gods had in store for me.

This time last year, (20th June) I was at the SECC watching my lovely Jon Anderson. There I was in the 30th row right next to the mixing desk!! I didn't care! I was happy! I was in the same place as him!

After the concert, when everyone was leaving the building, Anne bumped into someone she knew. She managed to get backstage to meet the band....leaving me outside waiting!!!

About an hour later, just as I had given up on her coming out, who should come out but my hero himself! What a wonderful surprise!!! It was worth sitting in the back row! I met my Jon for the first time ever!!!

He was so lovely. He signed my programme and asked me if I'd enjoyed the show. Well, I thought, yes...but not half as much as this.....albeit only 20 seconds!!!

Anyway...my message to you all is quite simply......ROLL ON 14th OCTOBER.....AND I HOPE TO SEE YOU ALL AGAIN!

PS....Hello to Anne, Gary from Os, Brian, and all the others I met in Tiger Tiger. You all helped to make my night magical. Let's hope we have the same fun in Edinburgh!

Love from Kimmie x x x x x x

Thanks for pointing this out - I've moved the thread - but I wouldn't get too bothered by these things!

On this day in Yes(fan) history, in 1992, I brought my beautiful son into the world. He is the joy of my life, and my reason to be here.
