Hey everybody!
today is a good day; the mailman just brought me 'Songs From Tsongas'!
Your Move is now playing and it looks and sounds great! I ordered this one at www.nlstore.nl (click 'artiestenlijst' and enter Yes) last friday.
I really hope all you guys will be treated soon to this DVD, brings back great memories...yesterday exactly one year ago I saw Yes in Holland...great way to celebrate that!

Care to write us a nice review? How's it look? Editing? Painful overdubs? Silly keys-ish visual effects? Set list the way it should be?
Is this the perfect Yes DVD we always dreamed it would be!?!?!?!

a guy who watched it:
There are almost no bonus, sadly. Just the 7-minute interview of Roger Dean from MSN.
The concert is great. The acoustic set is great, maybe just a bit too long for me. A very good thing is that Alan is playing on a small drum kit to be closer to the audience.
The setlist brings some fresh air, and it's quite "bizarre" to have All Good People and Roundabout played before the encores!!!
Rhythm Of Love is a highlight! Jon in the middle of the audience... it's really funny.
There's some humour too. Chris talks to the audience and chats with Jon between songs in the acoustic set. Steve talks too, but only to say "thank you" after his solo part.
The picture is great. Colors are very good, thanks to the stage design! Unlike other people, I quite like the giant cows
The concert is on 2 DVDs but there was a 15-minute interruption in the actual show, so it's not as disturbing as when it's really cut between 2 songs.

That sounds great Vic! I've never been more excited for anything ever in my life!
It was a long show!!! So i guess it had to be split over two discs. They could have done more special features then just that interview. Wasn't there going to be a short tour behind the scenes documentry thingy?
It must look weird that Steve is playing his solo while the stage crew are running around behind him. It was odd seeing that live.
HAHA Giant Cows!!! I never thought of them like that before.

Can anyone confirm that there is a 5.1 audio track on the dvd? I have seen conflicting reports that range from a mere Dolby stereo up to the much-preferred 5.1 dts. Thanks in advance and I envy you who already have this long-anticipated release. And keep the reviews coming (its a LONG time until August!).

He made a scene, and he should have.

I am a little confused as on the yes site it states ‘Filmed in May of 2004 this DVD consists of selections from Yes' summer tour, along with a behind the scenes look at the rehearsals, and interviews with band members and Roger Dean.’ Yet posted here I read that there are little extras in fact only Mr Dean speaking. What’s going on here? Are there two versions? Is anybody there? I am so confused help!

Chris lost the masters for the 8 track. There was a copy doing the rounds but Steve didn’t like the mix (guitar to low) Anyway Ricks keys were overdubbed on that version. Oh well we will just have to put up with the DVD 5.1 (without tour interviews)

My review of the show is here at Forgotten Yesterdays...
http://forgottenyesterdays.com/date.asp?s=5&tname=24&tdate=2372&navb=10
The PBS video~s quality is quite good, I just don~t care for the short attention span mentality (MTV style) of showing quick shots of the guys playing... The views, IMO, should be longer

Just received my copy today - watching it now, Mind Drive Part 1 - sound/image good so far.
For those who have heard Tsongas,
How much of the concert is acoustic? If it is a lot, I would be disappointed.
Not that it matters, but does anyone know why there was the delay? Business reasons, editing reasons? Group being busy reasons?
Thanks,
Jon

I haven't gotten my own copy yet, The Pony Express is so slow, damn.
I'm glad to see that Every Little Thing has been included, one of my favorite songs last tour!
They cut it out of the set-list mid-tour, so it's a treat to have an official recording of ELT. Great song.
Ritual is what held the DVD up. It needed some fix-ups, ...some were balking. Chris insisted, the rest is Yestory!
I'm glad Chris insisted on having Ritual on the DVD.
I was downright chuffed when I heard it might be left-off.
Ritual was a defining moment.

Yet another translation and meaning that has changed as it's crossed the Atlantic.
In the UK if you are "Chuffed" it basically means you are made up with something, happy about it etc.As in "I'm dead Chuffed me" I had to do a double take and read it again to get your drift.
I would be far from Chuffed if Ritual had been left off !!!

I got it on friday, have only seen up to Mind Drive part 3.
I can't compare with the original concert, but if I compare with the Stockholm concert, I must say that I feel the DVD isn't as rocky as the real concert was.
It was a lot more punch and energy than the DVD brings through. I think it has been mixed very non-aggressive. Held back much of the original live energy. For instance the Going for the one-slide guitar really rocked in Stockholm, but on the DVD it's almost "oh well"....
The guys also seem a tiny bit unfocused sometimes.
It would have been real ineterresting to be able to compare the original concert I went to, as I know comparing with another concert on DVD is somewhat tilted.
Anyone who went to the recorded concert who likes to comment?

As far as I know it's the only show on the tour they had set up for film. That doesn't mean they couldn't squeeze in a few shots from different sources.. but as far as I know it can only be from the Lowell show.

Oh dear. Exactly what we don't need from an official DVD release. Yes stuff often seems "sanitised" on official releases- which misses the point of the energy the band often exudes. I haven't got mine yet though so who knows? Does sound like another lost opportunity though.
I think the guys sounded really good on this tour, to not hear it properly represented will be a shame.
Good to see others differ in opinion. Anyone else commenting on the sound, which, DVD or not, is the big factor?

There is a 5.1 soundtrack and it sound better than the DTS 5.1.....but worse...the dolby surround sounds even better....so my config is dvd on dolby surround and amplifier on dts-neo or dolby II-music.
