29 years ago today Yes played at JFK stadium in Philly. The crowd was estimated at between 130,000 and 150,000. The descriptions have been posted before, the heat, the Frampton fans, the string band booed off the stage, fires at night, lasers thru the smoke. An unbelievable day for this Yes fan. There is a picture in the In A Word Yes booklet on page 38. If you look real close you can see me right where the corner of the pressbox shadow hits the crowd.
Any other YF members there? I'd like to know. I know at least one, he posted a review on FY.

Hey Bill...I wasn't there, but my brother, also Bill, was. I'm pretty sure he was behind at least one of the bonfires...he's a pyro! I need to check that "In a Word Yes" booklet! Nice memories, thanks for sharing.

Bill what an awesome story and memory for you. I wasn't there for that show but 1976 was the best year of my teenage life.

I was in Florida that summer and saw the Tampa Stadium version of that show. I had a nice little seat on the ground in front of the stage all afternoon but all of a sudden when Yes came on the crowd pushed forward and we watched the whole set crushed together on our feet... I don't remember minding, it was a great show...unfortunately the one picture I had of myself for years from that day seems to have disappeared on me somehow...

I was at JFK.
I think I was the yesfan referred to as posting a review at ForgottenYesterdays.
By far the best concert in memory.

It's great to be positively gossiped about.
And yes, I have posted reviews for this show, as well as the Tales show from philly, and some others.
Can't believe in one year it will be 30 YEARS since then.
My life blows! What have I done since then?!?!?

still one of my biggest regrets. i was a fr.mn. in H.S. (shawnee anyone?) and parents said no. i was so envious seeing all the concert t shirts the next school day! (the ultimate badge of cool) i hung out with the "staights/jocks", but my musical heart belonged to the "heads"
