I think the Yes Album has the largest collection of classic Yes songs from any one album. i.e. Yours is no disgrace, Starship Trooper, Clap and Ive seen all good people.
I suppose a lot of the songs on this album would become classic anyway because it was their breakthrough album, but when I bought it I did feel like I had got a lot of classic Yes in one go.
But then again there is also Fragile, mmm.........
What do you reckon, the most classics?.........

"Close to the Edge" !
I would agree "The Yes Album" has the most familiar tunes, but for sheer brilliance;
it's hard to top "Close to the Edge". IMHO of course. :-)

Well i think the band Yes have the best all-round immortal albums 'The Yes Album' 'Fragile' 'CTTE' 'Relayer' and 'Tales' and 'Going For The One' all dont even have a bad song on them!!...

All the songs on The Yes album are classics apart from A Venture and Perpetual change. I cant think of another album where only two arn't classics!!
Actually maybe CTTE (since it only has three songs on it!!)

Hmmm .. Fragile does :D
I think that TYE, CTTE and GFTO are all pretty well immaculate - the others are all flawed in some way, to varying degrees - even if they may be good albums overall, in some cases.

It has to be Yessongs then. No contest. All the (early) classics and no filler.

Yessongs, but I won't count it seeing a its a 3 LP live extavaganza..
The Yes Album would be a serious contender..
Yours Is No Disgrace
Starship Trooper
Ive Seen All Good People
Perpetual Change
Fragile:
Roundabout
Heart Of The Sunrise
South Side Of The Sky
Long Distance Runaround
My vote probably goes to Close To The Edge though..
perfection..in all senses of the word..
All three tracks are classics, brilliant..

This is interesting. It seems that the last Yes classic was on Going for The One which was nearly 30 years ago!
I very nearly started a thread last week asking what the 'last' Yes 'classic' track was.
Why no classics since GFTO? What about Mind Drive? Homeworld? New Language? Something off Magnification? Endless Dream?
I do think the last classic Yes was GFTO. I can quite put my finger on why nothing after that can be called 'classic'. But then again, I can't quite figure out why YIND, Awaken etc ARE classics. What's the difference?
Will there EVER be another Yes classic?

Will there EVER be another Yes classic?
Very very unlikely, but there's every chance there'll be plenty more crap DVD's!
