What's everyones favourite Roger Dean piece of art?
Roger Dean produces some excellent pieces of Art work and contemporary pieces. I think that his vision of the world around and things that aren't of this world are exraordinary and he has a brilliant tallent. He makes things seem tranquil yet strangely disturbing and chaotic. For me he is simply a genius in what he does. All the pieces you see are like you are dreaming or have taken some sort of narcotic (hopefully you havent) so I would definately list him high If not at the top of my list of artists. Although he mainly produces Poster's, Covers for CD's etc I think that his work should be remmembered.
My personal favourite piece is that of HomeWorld

For me, regrettably, it wouldn't be a YES-related work. ASIA--'Pyramid'

My favourite is Red Dragon - the cover from Steve's Not Necessarily Acoustic.
Only part of the picture features on the cover - I saw the original at the San Francisco Art Exchange last year - it is a stunning, huge (say 2 metres by 1.5 metres) work with intricate detail. Until that time I wouldn't have even mentioned it.
The Relayer cover, Red Earth (35th Anniversary CD), Drama, Arches, The Ladder, Dragons Garden and Blue Desert (Union) are also incredible when seen close up.

I always liked Badger from his book views. I always thought that the boy badger was inviting the girl badger to spend some time in his burrow. Which brings up the whole topic of badgers in love...but I digress.
That and there was one work of a spaceship designed in the shape of a fly which was a brilliant melding of the organic and the mettalic compete with pnuematic wings and robotic legs. Reminiscent of the fish ship. Very cool Always wanted to see more stuff like this

It's hard to choose. It's hard to separate his visual art and the music it envelopes. I'd have to say Tales. Because it's the best, most complete package. The inside of the cover is such a joy to 'behold' when listening to the music.

It's a re-work of an album cover done in the past (2002 if I'm right) for Uriah Heep. It's called Magician's Birthday, and a Serigraph print of it would take 1600 dollars from your wallet if you would like to get one...
The original (done on 1972) is red instead of the black and printed on a backdrop of green and blue colors
Love!

Oh, too many to mention. "Guardians" (aka "Canyon Cave"), "Arches" series, "Close to the Edge", "Sea of Light", "Floating Islands" . . .
Had a pleasure of meeting Mr. Dean a couple of years ago at the opening of his galery in New York. Had him sign an album of his work for me ("Views"). Still wondering whatever happened to a promised release of the three-album set? . . . Was supposed to come out last fall.
Those of you who haven't should definitely visit www.rogerdean.com (http://www.rogerdean.com) and have a look around - especially at the Architecture link. Mr. Dean does much more than just draw album covers and logos . . .

I'm in agreement essentially, since I got the triple vinyl when it came out in Edmonton but only saw them first time June of '75 in Vancouver with Patrick Moraz. Seeing Alan White live really made my year.
Pathways has been in my brain for more than thirty years.
But 'The Sentinels' in red was a desktop for months for me.
Also, I find tonight I love ME. :D No, silly! -that 'me' logo/design.......
It's the simplest, best celebration of self-directed wonder and humour I've seen.
