While browsing through the *YES* section at Best Buy today, I noticed that *The Ladder* looked a bit different. Upon further investigation, I saw that some of the artwork had been altered slighty (see thru spine doesn't feature symbols) and more obvious is that the distribution is different.

My copy, which I purchased the day *The Ladder* was relased in 1999, is distributed through BMG. I noticed the copy I saw at Best Buy was distributed through Universal.

Anyone have any ideas how/why this happened and is there any difference in the musical content of the album...longer/shorter tracks etc...?

Thanks,
Dan

Very interesting pianodan. I also wonder what that is about.

Perhaps Universal will do a better job promoting YES?

Had a chance to look myself after reading about this. Where I shop for music, the only LADDER cds are the BMG variety, with a cut out sliced in the jewel case. There were about 20 of them in COCONUTS, all 6.99.

I don't expect the content of the music changed. I wonder if the CD ROM advertisement for the HOMEWORLD game is still on it.

Maybe that's it. They took the preview off, since the games getting on (it's hard to find in shops these days). Homeworld 2 is coming out soon, speaking of games...
