Just joined and first time I've posted anything but here goes.
I read a biography about Yes a few years ago and I'm sure it referred to
a pub in Oxfordshire somewhere which has lots of Yes memorabilia.
Can anyone tell me where it is, and which pub?
While I'm here.... Are there any good Yes tribute bands in the UK? The only
band I know of are Fragile which get good reviews. Can any of you true afficionados confirm it?
Grateful for any help.

Hi Noidea! Welcome to the site!
First tribute band as far as I know I believe Fragile are the only ones. I tell a lie there is one other one called 'Yep' and they are from the 'West Country'. Anyway you might find this link interesting:

Was the biography 'Close to the Edge' by Chris Welch, if so the pub it refers to is The Bull Inn, in Charlbury, Oxfordshire.
The connection with Yes comes from the fact that it is owned and run (well at least it was 5 years ago when the book was published) by Roy Flynn, who was of course, Yes' first manager. I don't know if it is laced completly in Yes stuff, but i guess its worth the visit, just to see if you can meet Roy and prise a few Yes stories out of him.

Thanks Brother...
Very useful link. I'd followed the odd link to Fragile before, but hadn't heard of
Yep. Unfortunately the link to Yep doesn't particularly help. Wonder how
west they are in the West Country... But great Yes fan links.

I was the guitarist in Yep and the driving force in setting it up. We were based in and around Exeter and were active from 2000 to 2003. Sadly for me there were several reasons why we folded:
1. Lack of venues interested in Yes tributes
2. A keyboard player who wanted to move to Spain
3. Band members (but not me) who wanted to earn money from the project rather than do it for love.
Such is life.
