I've seen the image and their cover...

I regret to say that such artwork nowadays made me completely lost my interest in Roger Dean art...

It's just like with Yesmusic, Although you tend to like everything they do for being just a fan, you know as well as I do that the "magic" has gone.. As Roger Dean's career evolved over the years, i cannot find the great effort in his images anymore, they're all Stone Age images. And basically life has gone in his work. On some exception you might come across a little bird or very tiny humans, but that's it.

I like a lot of Roger's stuff from the 70's and 80's... At that period he created a world of his own. With strange animals, dragons, birds, humans, walking or flying around...
That was and IS great to me!

But knowing this, and looking at the image done for Glass Hammer here, I regret to say that the glory days have gone...

Oh well,

Love!

Jasper

I think it's all about creating a certain atmosphere and I think he still succeeds in that.
Talking animals; Dean made a snake and a beatle recently for Yes and don't forget the Progfest butterflies. Maybe some people are so used to the magic that they don't recognize it anymore? In both Yesmusic and Dean art?

Well,

Those snake and butterflies are not entirely done by Dean..

And as for me, I still defenitely recognize that magic (thank god for that) It has in some way to do with the effort spend on an image, and last couple of images are too much of an earlier played trick to me. We all know by now his stone age images... Some are good... oh yes, but the more you see of them, the more you get bored with them... that's why I recommend a certain change here...

Besides, I got to understand from Roger himself that he doesn't like doing images that much anymore, and nowadays love to do those print reproductions.

TRUE TRUE, It's like the SUN. We've seen it so much that we don't even realize how bizarre, amazing and surreal IT truly is.

As a young teenager in the early 70's, Dean's art made me appreciate and realize how incredible and magnificent nature was in the real world. He made me (along with LSD and YES music) look at reality with an intensely deeper appreciation. And everyday I try to never forget.
